Hey guys

Does this set include the two discs for the first film that the single release for no.1 had? or is it just two discs altogether?

I own this and can confirm that the first film has two discs, one for the film and one for the special features whilst the second film is all on one BD-50.

Excellent, thanks!

Honestly, I would have thought Fox would screw us over and just put the first disc in!

I just got the double film pack from Amazon.

It appears it was re-issued in 2012 in a standard case (before the "proper" fix UK steelbook for FC in 2014). I can't tell from the packaging if it has ALL 3 discs? Can anyone confirm? It doesn't make it clear what extras are where (unlike the original 2008 release).

I bought it for the extras on disc 2 of FC (incl. the featurette on misguided colour timing and The Poughkeepsie Shuffle, which isn't on the fixed disc). I don't want to open it if it's just 2 movie discs with limited extras. I want what's on Disc 3!

I have the 2012 issue, and yes it does have all 3 discs.

While this thread is active, I've also been looking to pick up a copy of this. Is there a version of The French Connection released in the UK that doesn't have the botched colour timing, or am I going to have to import?

Not 100%, but I don't think we got the Signature edition original or revised.

That's too bad. I guess I'll probably grab a US copy in November when I do my usual Stackry order for the Criterion deals. Thanks!

Be sure to make sure you get the remastered disc, my first copy had the old disc inside. It might be ok by now, but you never know with old Fox stock.

I don't suppose there's any specific way to tell when buying from Amazon overseas until it arrives?

This “limited edition” steelbook released in 2014 was the only way to get the remastered version here:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-F...lu-ray/100608/

Importing the US “Signature series” edition is your best option, with the caveat already mentioned:

Not in a sealed new copy, the cover is the same. If you get it used you could ask the seller beforehand, as the wrong disc will have the same orange/yellow design as the old set and have "Disc 1" on it. The correct disc has a plain design with "Signature Series" on it.

Bought this in Fopp today, they kindly warned me that the first film has botched colour timing, but he said I should still get it for the second film. I just checked it and it has 3 discs.

I've ordered the US signature edition from Amazon UK to go with it https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008YAPRPG
