Default Bose sound---Sony bluray bdps300---lg lcdtv

Hi

I have an LG lcd hdtv with Bose 321 system. One year old. The audio/video place is telling me to get a Sony blu-ray bdps300 with an hdmi cable. Is this a good move? I am not very efficient at any of this. Thank you. They will connect the sony blu ray so I hear from the Bose 321.....

the hdmi would be for hd picture on your lcd. but that is only half of what blu is all about. in all honesty if you want to get the best what blu has to offer, get a proper surround sound system and a receiver that can handle pcm lossless sound. even with a player that can decode dts ma and true hd, you can enjoy these new codecs. the sony 300 i believe can only decode true hd and output through hdmi only where as others can output through the 5.1 analog out of the player and into a 5.1 analog in the reciever (7.1 also). this is usually for those who dont have an hdmi receiver. sony is coming out with new players in a few months that will be better.

edit: the above post is basically referring to this:

Bose, Bose, Bose. I have been using my 201's and 101's in my home theater since 1992 and think they sound great. To each his own.
