Anyone see Last Sentinel? - Blu-ray Forum

Looks mildly interesting but not expecting even a b-movie out of that.

Probably right so it may just be a simple matter of what you expect going into it. I know most here hated Hitman but I expected much worse so I actually liked that flick. It's not Apocalypto... but then, it's not meant to be.

All the negative talk about Hitman made my viewing much better. I was expecting complete shlock and you know what, it wasn't that bad. I actually liked it for the fight scenes and the headshots.

I ordered this movie a while ago and still waiting to get it from amazon. it's been on and off the availablility list a couple times so I have no idea when I will get it.

I just received an E-Mail from Amazon earlier today stating that my order's shipping date has been delayed for another few weeks due to this film.

BTW, for those who didn't read the other thread I created regarding Echo Bridge's releases, "The Last Sentinel" has a 5.1 PCM soundtrack on it.

Same here. I have it on order, but Amazon is now telling me that it won't ship until sometime in the middle of May. I did receive Blackbeard though, and the PQ was very good so hopefully we can expect the same from this title.

I should be receiving my copy tomorrow. It looks like this movie was delayed only a little bit; Amazon started getting them out of the door on the day after April 10th.

I did in fact receive it today. I popped it in to check the PQ, and well, Amazon could have waited longer to send it...

The back cover states that the special feature, a featurette, is "in Full High Definition 1080p", but it's in 4x3 upconverted 1080p I guess because it is NOT HD.

The back cover also states that the AUDIO consists of four language tracks (and a "Director/Producer Commentary"), the most impressive of the two being an "English 5.1 Dolby Digital Uncompressed", but it's missing from the disc... though the BD does have a 1.5mbps DTS soundtrack that's not listed on back.

Now, going back to the PQ, it's a MPEG-2 encode, and it's simply not good. Seriously, just not good. I saw "The Poseidon Adventure" in HD when it aired on NBC, so I'll be getting Echo Bridge's release of it... but I seriously hope it's a better release than "The Last Sentinel".

just a heads up,
this was on sci fi channel either a month or 2 ago, i couldnt stand 5 minutes of it, it was that bad.
i definetly will not be getting this one, figure it out,it was never released in the theatres...................

I have to agree, I saw it not long ago and it was really bad. I would recommend a rental at most.

well for the price I paid it was about the same as renting it, after factoring in the gas prices to get to Blockbuster. Mine came from Amazon yesterday and I watched it right away. Yes, it is a horrible movie but for some reason I found it horrible in an entertaining way. I still watched it all and at no time did I feel the need to turn it off. I guess I was just in a mood to see something terrible, haha. If my wife was home watching it she may have left the room or turned it off herself, there is no doubt about that.

Just as a FYI, it has an audio track that isn't listed on the box: DTS 5.1 (1.5 mbps).

As far as the PQ, it looks really, really poor to me in several scenes where I was spot-checking it. It reminds me of the PQ I'd get years ago using the SLP mode for VHS tapes. I'll just have to wait a while to watch it, not really in the mood for something like that tonight.
