I never noticed how cross-eyed they made Gyllenhaal look in that poster.

It's a real shame. Even if they released a steelbook that was just black and the title of the movie I'd buy it. But that cover looks embarassing.

I was one of those suckers. I bought it for $30 (Used, Like New) and literally one month later, the re-release was announced. 'Pissed' is about the most tame version of the word I'd like to use to explain my frustration.

Floating heads are an immediate NO WAY in my book
I'm, 99.9% of the time, with you on that, but this might be that .01% where the floating heads artwork actually works for me. As I mentioned earlier, hopefully these all have interior art as that might prove to be deciding factor on this one for me.

That's how he was able to spot and solve the ciphers so easily. He also can solve "Magic Eye" puzzles from a distance

Guess I'm not getting the Zodiac steel now. I'd rather have the artwork that's on the regular BD release.

Espeically when they're crappy, half-assed releases like Warner has done recently. Mostly re-release cover art with no interior artwork (even when the original releases in other countries had interiors). Easy for me to pass up.

That said, I might grab Cloverfield because it's an awesome movie and I have yet to own it. And if they do happen to do back and interior art for The Ring, then I'd be tempted for a double-dip. The rest of these are pretty uninteresting, unless WB pulls a rabbit out of their hat and does something amazing with back/interior art or embossing or gloss. But I'm not holding my breath.

And is it me or does Jake Gyllenhaal look cross-eyed on that cover?

No inside art - No sale.

I can't stand blank interiors, and I don't want to custom make any. If these don't have factory printed pictures when I open them, then it will be easy to deny. There are some good titles here though.

Yep! That's, pretty much, my stance these days.
With so much steelbook product out there, studios need to step up their game a bit. This is why I say: having as many purchasing options is always a good thing!

I'll post pic of Seven Steel Book as soon as it becomes available. Also no info on inside Artwork yet.

+1 This is like a direct quote from one of my posts in the other WB steel thread.

This is why I'm going with Zavvi and AmazonUK. It's like $15-$20 with shipping, mint condition (can't even find something mint at my local retailer), 5-8 days to receive. That's my luck so far anyway.

Who saw that Zodiac cover and said "Yup.....let's release that. Looks good."? I mean, even Jake G. should have something to say about this steel.

The U.S. releases so far have had inferior print quality, as well as slight paint scratches. You're better off sticking only to the U.K. releases.

I was really hoping they would use the Cloverfield steelbook art from Germany. But they just played it safe with that old cover. North American steelbook are sooooooooo lazy.

This pretty much sums it up. Warner are the king of Steelbook re-releases, so wait for a UK version which will probably be much better quality in regards to finish and will definitely have inside artwork. Yes you have to pay a bit more, but it is worth it since Steelbooks are supposed to be premium products and not cheap crap to move excess discs.

Dammit, dammit, dammit. I far prefer my DVD steelbook cover, made up to look like a rusted out military film canister. Ah well.

I wonder if the Shutter Island artwork will be from either of these editions...
