United Kingdom James Dean Ultimate Collector's Edition (October 7th 2013)

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/James...Blu-ray/80022/

It comes with 6 discs instead of 7 like the US version. (The UK seems to be missing the George Stevens documentary DVD)

But the price is much cheaper than the US version.
SRP is £34.99, currently has it for 21.

Default James Dean Collection

This has just appeared on Amazon with a release date of Oct 07 and a pre-order price of £21.01.

Seems very good value to me, especially as the entry on Blu-Ray.com is suggesting that it comes with a book, posters and photo prints.

If you pre-order do they take payment immediately or upon release?

I must say the set looks terrific but actor-themed box sets always give me a headache as I sort my collection by director's surname

I placed my pre-order!!! The "George Stevens: A Filmmaker’s Journey" is about the director right?!?! no bigg loss in my book. I also suspect that the uk is getting the smaller box like the FRIENDS box set last year.

They will pre-authorise your card now for the value of £0.01 but won't take payment until the item is despatched.

It's an amazing price. The UCE also looks smaller than the US one too.

It's really nice to see this appear in the UK. Cannot wait to own East Of Eden, Giant and Rebel Without A Cause on blu-ray

Very excited to see this. Ended up ordering this and cancelling my U.S. pre-order. Better price and, for my own tastes, much better packaging.

Unless you have something like a multiregion Oppo BD player in the US. That will handle both the region coding and the PAL to NTSC conversion.

With VAT removed, the price comes down to £17.51! Heck yes.

I think both will. The Sainsbury's one in particular is a steal.

I sent Sainsbury's price to Amazon. I don't think they PM them (do they PM anyone nowadays?) but I did it anyway. The price is killer in any event so I already locked in my pre-order.

I've placed my Amazon pre-order already, £21 is incredible. I'd pay that for a decent blu-ray transfer of Rebel Without a Cause alone. It's one of my favourite films, and I've never owned a copy because I've been waiting for a blu-ray.

That price is just crazy. To think I was going the three digibooks route till I came upon this thread.
