Post Moonlight- Alex O Loughlin (Discussion)

How many of you Blu lovers are familiar this show? I Absolutely loved it at first. I enjoyed the characters and specially the atmosphere.

The show suffered from the writers' strike at the time and got cancelled in a sense. They lost the momentum mid way when they made their main character human for a day.

So whats your thoughts on it?

Shaky start, but Moonlight improved and hit it's stride midway thru the season.

Like Blood Ties it just missed the Vampire craze that hit after Twilight was released.

That CW's The Vampire Diaries reaped the benefits from.

Pretty sure Lifetime and CBS are still kicking themselves for prematurely pulling the plug.

I really enjoyed the show until the point where mick became Human, the episodes after that began to deterioriate.

Loughlin said that there were problems between CBS and the people in charge of the show, its a shame that it missed out on the vampire craze of 08

I caught up on this show back when The CW reran all the episodes during the Summer of 2010, the only notable contribution from corporate co-owner CBS. It was entertaining for what it was. Kind of hard to believe this is the same Alex 'O Loughlin that went on to star in Hawaii Five-O.

I remember watching this show as it aired. Really enjoyed it the whole way thru but it was still one of those shows that I can take it or leave it - similarly to the CSI's. I watched every one (Original, Miami & New York) and now that Miami & New York are over it doesn't really bother me. Should of started watching Hawaii 5-0 when it first started but think my schedule was already full at the time and didn't bother making time for it until I learned of all the other actors involved like Hiro, Boomer, Spike, John Locke & Jin. I mean come on. You got actors from Heroes, Battlestar Gallactica, Buffy & LOST all in one show - how could I not watch? Anyway, Moonlight was nice while it lasted. Would be nice to see another show similar to it - but different from Vampire Dairies or True Blood.

Its kinda hard to believe know that a series with a popular genre and a ton of stars had to be cancelled. Well, Loughlin said they did fine on the ratings end; which is probably the most important aspect when you launch a series.
They did a good job adapting the novel Angel of Vengence. I think the captured the real essence of the Mick St John character. I really liked the storyline with Choraline as it kept me interested for the majority of episodes, well until the point were the cure was made..I also thought the ending was rushed and out of place, but the Lance character was something unique

And for the purposes of Nostalgia:

"Mick’s interviewing and interrogation skills are the best I’ve ever seen."
