I think it's not the final cover art for this blu-ray.
V For Vendetta is also announced with Dolby Digital only but all items from the HD-DVD release will be taken over to the blu-ray so I have no doubt that the Dolby True-HD track will be on there.

So, did the HD-DVD release have the Dolby TrueHD track or just the 5.1 core or EX?

This is what I've been waiting to see from Warner and Universal. Whether they'll simply "port over" the crap from HD-DVD or improve the audio/video for the Blu-Ray release.

I have been wanting this for an age on Blu-ray. Great Film. I loved that they did not buckle and give it a feel good ending!

I can only imagine how the Ocean will sound on this. Come to think of it, I can't wait to hear what Twister will sound like also.

This is a scan of the HD-DVD release :

As you can see Dolby True-HD is on there as well as the Dolby EX track.
I have no doubt the lossless option will be on the blu-ray as well.

For me, it was one of those movies that I liked the first time, but liked even more the second and third times. Say all you want about "stupid" fishermen - it's a well made film and it's pretty moving.

And it looks good in HD.

One word of warning to people. If Warner ports the HD DVD directly it's a flawed bobbed and weaved 1080i transfer. Warner messed this up with several other titles in the early days of High Definition media. That transfer has the same flaw the first Full Metal Jacket HD DVD/Blu-ray and several other Warner titles had. Warner messed up when creating the HD masters of these titles and I believe the only one they've fixed was with the second Full Metal jacket release.

I remember watching it in the theater, and literally got motion sickness, can't wait to see what it does with 120hz on an xbr5... should be interesting. no pizza that night i guess.

Yeah, the dud got a 3.5 star at HDDigest for pq but the sound was much better. Lets hope Warner doesn't give us the same crap.

Seems like the Blu-Ray scan is correct: there is no lossless audio.

Click here to read it at hidefdigest.

it's really honestly not that great of a movie! It is watchable but it is by no means a great movie! Should sound fantastic though. Might be worth a buy just because of the way those 40ft waves will sound crashing down on the boat!

You do know this was based on a true story and those fishermen really died so having them make it out alive would be a little dumb. The only fictionalized events are what happens on the ship because no one really knows

Good movie I heard the HD version had a lot of grain....I've got it on dvd so i'll just leave it at that. Don't really watch it a lot.
