Spectacular Spider-Man Re-airing on the CW - Blu-ray Forum

I was watching JLA: Unlimited this morning on the CW and they ran promos saying The Spectacular Spider-Man was "premiering" next Saturday at 9am (PST). Best part was that the teasers were in HD, which means the show will air in the same. I was a child, so I don't remember if it originally aired that way.

Am I the only one excited to see these episodes again in HD? Closest thing to a BD we'll get, right? I love the series, but never bought the DVDs, so I'll be tuning in as long as they keep running it.

The original airings on Kids' WB!/The CW were 4:3 SD. I don't know how Disney XD aired it, but this will definitely be the first time it airs in 16:9 HD on broadcast.

Also, this probably be the only time you will see a Marvel animated series and a DC animated series aired on the same block back-to-back.

I applaud The CW for being the only broadcast network still airing traditional Saturday morning cartoons and not giving up the slot to time-bought E/I filler or infomercials.

I also applaud them for giving these old cartoons a resurgence. So much of their lineup is devoted to reruns. Watching JLA Unlimited and The Spectacular Spider-Man back-to-back in HD will be great, since neither of the two series are on BD yet. P.S. Just looked up the show's original air dates (2008-2009), and I was way off. I wasn't a child, I was an older teen. Just wasn't into tech specs back then, so I didn't remember.

I think I remember DisneyXD carrying the last season in HD... but I don't believe DisneyXD was available in HD when the show first started. My memory is a bit fuzzy.

I thought this was a well-done cartoon and wish it would come out on Blu-ray.

Best spidey cartoon ever. No idea why Sony won't release a BD of this series. I do believe they still own the rights.

The Spectacular Spider-Man is to Spidey as Batman: The Animated Series is to Batman.

It is an incredible show. I own all the DVDs. Still upset that there were only 2 seasons.

I read about it being a great show on IGN's list of great animated shows that even adults can love.

I didn't know there was a DVD out of it, though! I might have to ask for that for my birthday

I have still never seen Batman: The Animated Series... sounds like it's quite incredible.
