Default Disney movies safe for animal lovers?

I figured it would be easier to make a thread dedicated to this rather than post in every individual Disney thread and make a fool of myself.

Anyways, for my whole life, I have been under the impression that Disney movies that have animals as the main subject, and actually most movies in general with animals as the main subject, at least one animal will get hurt and/or die in that film.

My Dog Skip and Marley & Me are the most traumatic for me, but in terms of the Disney films I've seen, Fox and the Hound has always been the top in terms of traumatizing It's not even that any of the animals die in that movie, it's that principle of it all.

So I was wondering, is there a list of Disney movies that are safe for animal lovers like me?

I'm thinking I should probably get the ball rolling on picking up all these Disney Blu-rays that I ignored because I was scared there were animals that got hurt or died in them.

Basically, I can just list the movies I've skipped out on buying, and maybe someone can help tell me if they are safe to watch for a hypersensitive animal lover?

The Jungle Book
The Great Mouse Detective
The Aristocats
101 Dalmatians
Peter Pan
Robin Hood
Sword In the Stone
Pocahontas
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Dumbo
Pinocchio
Bambi
Alice in Wonderland
Lady and the Tramp
Oliver and Company

Those are the animated films I have not picked up on Blu-ray (and in the case of The Jungle Book, don't plan to buy it when it comes out) because I'm worried there will be animals that get hurt in the movies.

Anyone able to shed light on this? Thank you for reading.

If animals coming in harm's way really is a trigger for you, I'd probably avoid Bambi.

you're so sensitive that animation sets you off?

i'd avoid 101 Dalmatians then.

I love The Great Mouse Detective, but a mouse dies in it. You don't get to know the mouse beforehand so it's not really traumatic, but it scared me when I was younger so...

Pretty sure Robin Hood and Peter Pan are safe though.

Not a Disney film, but if you need to know, The Adventures of Milo and Otis is a pretty safe film to watch.

Honestly, if you're that sensitive, why not just skip on Disney movies (and probably just about ANY movie that has an animal in it) altogether? I mean, I can sort of understand if the animals are real (even if the animals don't get hurt in real life), but cartoon animals? Why even set yourself up?

Snoopy NEVER gets hurt. Any Charlie Brown is safe. It's no Disney, but beggars can't be choosers.

Pretty much this.

Plus, a lot of movies nowadays (well the ones that I've seen) have some sort of animal and most of the time they're injured in some way, so...maybe movies in general?

The Jungle Book - fights amongst the animals, injuries.
The Great Mouse Detective - fight scenes, peril. Bad guy dies by falling.
The Aristocats - Kidnappings. Cats in peril. Maybe some dogs getting kicked around.
101 Dalmatians - kidnappings. May have been minor kicking around of Pongo with the Horace and Jasper fight scene, though I don't remember. Dogs constantly in peril.
Peter Pan - nothing here
Robin Hood - humanoid animals. Any getting hurt is just in a comical manner.
Sword In the Stone - The wizards have a fight scene in which they change into different animals and fight.
Pocahontas - Can't remember, but I don't think so.
Hunchback of Notre Dame - None that I recall. Only animal is a goat, and nothing happens to it.
Dumbo - ears being pulled, mom gets whipped a bit.
Pinocchio - Humans turned into donkeys get kicked around a bit. Whale gets smoked out.
Bambi - Death, peril.
Alice in Wonderland - Comical things like a flamingo and hedgehogs getting used for croquet. Nothing really to avoid.
Lady and the Tramp - peril, dogs getting hurt.
Oliver and Company - Dogs getting hurt. The evil dogs die.

Definitely pick up the video of The Plague Dogs, the most uplifting animated animal film ever made.

Wasn't there a dolphin movie called The Cove or something like that? Might be worth checking out.

yes, The Cove is the most charming uplifting family film about the wonders of dolphins with the most inspiring animal scene ever with a baby dolphin.

Listen, I know it's a strange request, and I know it sounds ridiculous, but I thank the people that were kind enough to help me out and understand my issue. Animals in movies, live-action or animated, just get my heart strings, that's all.

I won't stop seeing movies altogether, of course

Thank you for the great recommendation for The Cove! I loved that movie. Loved all the happy dolphins that definitely weren't in harm's way throughout the whole film. That little Asian town seems quite noble and kind to their marine life

In all seriousness, I have two documentaries, Sharkwater and The Cove, and I bought them solely to help the cause they are pushing, but refuse to watch them. I've already heard about the finale of The Cove, and it sounds... powerful, to say the least, but also traumatizing and sickening, and I would probably not recover.

Thank you very much for the helpful response

When you say dogs getting kicked around in The Aristocats, do you mean dogs fighting each other? Or humans abusing dogs?

(Uh, you DID that joke in the thread already, King Troll...
Short-term memory loss, or are we just running a little thin on material?)

Dogs with Pat Buttram accents suffering comic pratfalls while trying to chase an English butler on a motorcycle.
I normally wouldn't be this detailed, except to emphasize, don't you feel sort of silly for asking?

Everyone has different sensitivities and standards. Just because you don't agree with them or understand them doesn't mean you should mock someone. The OP made a straightforward and quite frankly easy request, why not just help out?

you really want to blow this thread up into a convo about why we should or shouldnt support people with mental health issues? that's going to totally derail the thread even further

I'm just curious, do you feel the same when seeing violence with people? I'm not trying to insult, I'm just very intrigued. Obviously if it's too the point that you can't even see an animated animal in danger, I just wonder what your reaction is to human life? I completely understand that animal death/cruelty can be heartbreaking in films, but to have a more visceral reaction to animals than people seems odd to me.
