Default $1,000,000 stereo system makes people cry

http://www.businessweek.com/videos/2...pensive-stereo

Thought this was fitting for this forum considering most of us are self proclaimed audiophiles and strive to achieve the best audio experience we can with what money we have.

The guy has a monoblock amp for each driver. Each monoblock amp has its own seperate power line. A total of 15,000 watts for two speakers. Talk about crazy...

Yes, it is crazy. You can tell just by looking at all those reflective surfaces that the sound quality is not very good, no matter how much money he spent. I'm glad he's satisfied! But I sure wouldn't be.

Wink $1,000,000 stereo system makes people cry

Very nice but not the best i've seen! I know this guy who is a professional in video and audio remastering and he uses his own 3 million dollar home theater to master movies for the big studios!

Everyone be advised ...Ethan is an acoustics expert! The advise he gives is very solid. I agree that there are a lot of hard reflective surfaces in that room too! If you're dropping a Mil on a system - invest in room treatments!

So true. 1Mil in stereo speakers is crazy. You can tell he paid for status not because he loves or is generally knowledgeable about the hobby. If he was he wouldn't have them in such a crappy area. I bet you put a good Hi Fi system costing 5% of what he paid in a well treated well setup room: no contest.

Maybe they moved it out into the living room just for the shoot? Lighting was better?

All of those really expensive cables running under a rug in front of a hallway? And 1 million on a stereo is crazy expensive but lets be honest; not THE most expensive one in the world.
