Aladdin was #1 TJB #2 TLM #3 and WIR is #4

Zavvi already updated their listings to reflect this a few days ago.

I'm pretty sure Disney won't be re releasing titles they have vaulted for a steelbook. No matter how hard Zavvi wants them to. Pixar and already released films then maybe but not recently vaulted ones.

Bu then nor will Zavvi release them all at once. They have about 25(?) to get through (plus everything released in the next couple of years at least, so add another 15 - 20) before they get to vaulted titles, by which time they'll be up for re-release (Sleeping Beauty for example).

I don't see it happening. Recently vaulted titles won't be re- released for about 5 years. Disney won't have their release schedule dictated to them by Zavvi. I also doubt they would allow a site like Zavvi to have exclusive rights to steelbooks for about 50 of their films. Disney might not want to release all their films on blu ray in the UK.

Zavvi may get the odd exclusve on some of the new releases but all 50 odd, I don't think so.

But would they allow empty steelbooks?

This is what we have so far have release dates in the next couple of months - 35 titles altogether.

No. 1 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
No. 2 Pinocchio
No. 3 Fantasia
No. 4 Dumbo
No. 5 Bambi
No. 12 Cinderella
No. 13 Alice in Wonderland
No. 14 Peter Pan
No. 15 Lady and the Tramp
No. 16 Sleeping Beauty
No. 17 101 Dalmatians
No. 18 The Sword in the Stone
No. 19 The Jungle Book
No. 20 The Aristocats
No. 21 Robin Hood
No. 23 The Rescuers
No. 24 The Fox and the Hound
No. 29 The Little Mermaid
No. 30 Beauty and the Beast
No. 31 Aladdin
No. 32 The Lion King
No. 33 Pocahontas
No. 34 The Hunchback of Notre Dame
No. 35 Hercules
No. 36 Mulan
No. 37 Tarzan
No. 38 Fantasia 2000
No. 44 Brother Bear
No. 45 Chicken Little
No. 46 The Wild
No. 47 Meet the Robinsons
No. 48 Bolt
No. 49 The Princess and the Frog
No. 50 Tangled
No. 51 Wreck-It Ralph

Out of those, how many are vaulted? From memory I have Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast and possibly The Lion King. So even being generous and going with one released every month - and allowing for six new releases a year (even though Disney have been releasing more than that in the past few years) - we're taking about three-four years before they start to run low on titles to choose from by which point we'll start to see vaulted titles being re-released. Sure, they might not be able to keep up with regular releases by that point but assuming they are still going then Zavvi can release steel versions with the vaulted re-releases.

I will be having all of these. I'm not a big fan of collecting everything from a set but I will make an exception for this one and the PIXAR set too.

Quite happy to buy the Steelbook case only if they want to offer that to those who already have the discs.

Disney will not be told when or what format to release their films. They may decide not to re release the ones that have been vaulted on blu ray. They may decide that internet based films are the future and not physical.

I think that they will manage to do the vaulted titles after a while....all they have to do is keep them untill last, by the time they come around to pre order them and even come out Disney will probably be doing re-releases of them again or maybe even allow Zavvi to use them

They wouldn't allow some people who havent got the vaulted titles already to have am in complete collection

Once they manage to catch up on all the steelbooks, hopefully they can look to the future of Disney/Pixar steelbooks and will never have to do another steelbook ever again. They can concentrate on new titles

I doubt they will be going in release order. Or numbering the steelbooks since they already have 2 of the collection already released with another two on pre order, 1 sold out and the other was only available with a pre order of an XBone or PS4.

Well, that's reaching to "prove" your point - especially as they've already announced that Sleeping Beauty will be re-released in 2015. The usual seven year window. I'm not saying Zavvi will tell them to release them or when. Just that if Zavvi and Disney want to keep this going then they can eventually get around to doing steelbooks for the vaulted titles down to timing of Disney's re-release schedule, not down to Zavvi calling any shots. Disney will keep re-releasing physical media for as long as they can. As someone who obviously counts themself as a Disney fan and has some knowledge of how they work you know they will. They always have and its a system that's done extremely well for them.

I was just including the numbers for completeness sake - and because I mostly cut-and-pasted it from King Simba's Disney thread list

I just noticed the reference to the Disney Collection with my Jungle Book SB this morning actually and I wondered about it.

Hate to be a party pooper but 'The Disney Collection' could be just a name, a marketing scheme, an as of yet undecided number of Zavvi exclusive Disney steelbooks and not the entire 51...
If my theory is incorrect I don't mind I'll eat humble pie and pick and choose my favourites. I've already passed on TJB.

I don't think anyone is expecting them to do all of them well, that would be pretty silly if they did...

I'm pretty sure that's what will happen. This is just confirmation of what we already knew, Zavvi are going to release more Disney Steelbooks.
