Default Current movie trailers revealing too much?

I'm at the point where I don't want to watch anymore upcoming trailers cuz I don't wanna be spoiled too much.

I haven't watched Indy 4, Iron-Man trailers

What do you think?

"What Lies Beneath" was one of the most spoiler-filled trailers ever.

I just saw the trailer for Deception and it was ridiculous. I'm pretty sure after watching that trailer I know every single plot point in the movie. It actually looks kind of interesting but the trailer goes point by point through the movie's plot, which definitely lessens my interest in watching it in the theaters.

Would you rather have the trailers just have Promo art and say in a voice over "Coming soon to theaters"?

BTW, Indy 4 doesn't really reveal much related to the plot. Just the obvious facts it reveals.

Typically if the trailer is giving away the farm, what you see is usually the best parts to intise an audience in to the theaters for what is probably going to be a very short term theatrical run. i.e. a clunker. Although I did enjoy What lies beneath.

Well not that boring, but at least don't show all the cool actions. Take 'Wanted' for example, I think they just squeezed all the 'over-the-top' action sequences in the movie inside that 2 minutes trailer

I think a better example is those movie spoof trailers. All the funny parts are in the trailer. Of course, no one should watch those lousy movies anyway.

You have to remember that usually certain scenes that they put in the trailers don't make it to the movie. I've been disappointed numerous times that I didn't see the funny or cool scene in the trailer in the movie.

Now t.v abusing. Showing to many commercials kind of ruin it.

The Scary Movies is one of those lousy movies. Funny on trailers and commercials

Half of the Walk Hard t.v commercials weren't in the movie when it came out to theater.

I worked in the movie theater business since '87 and I could tell you that I've felt that trailers have been showing too much for about the last 15 years or so. It had gotten to the point that I wouldn't bother watching the movie because the trailer would show 90% ofthe film. And I figured why should I spend two hours in front of a screen when I can get almost the whole thing in two minutes. It's almost like the other 1:58 is just filler.

I always thought (and still do with most things) that 'less is more' and that definitely applies to trailers (previews to most people).

P.S. For anyone that cares, the reason that they're called 'trailers' is they were originally played after a movie or 'trailed a movie' - for anyone that cares

Thats why I liked the Dark Knight trailer. Really didn't show to much. They just played a bunch of different scenes really quickly.

I just saw it once, I'm glad that it didn't show too much. I don't think they showed 2-faces in it yet.

I remember the trailers for World Trade Center well before the movie release date. They definitely showed too much. I want the trailer to hook me and get me all excited to see the film. I don't want it to tell me how the movie ends.

I remember in Spiderman. The trailer showed the helicoptors trapped in a web strung between the twin towers.

Did they cut that scene out of the film? It was too sensitive a subject since the WTCs went down not long before Spiderman came out.

They had to change it just like the MIB 2 movie did the last minute

I think that trailer was a 'teaser' trailer. I don't believe any of that was meant to be in the movie. It, in itself, was a two minute movie...and probably one of the best ever.

As far as the WTC towers goes, I do remember the posters and banners (originals) having Spidey on the corner of a building with the Two Towers refecting from one of his eyes. I still remember getting the fax from Sony to remove those materials immediately (no problem) and destroy (oops - forgot to do that ). I still have that poster framed in my home theater in the basement
