Brian Yuzna's weird cult film is coming to Blu-ray in Germany from Capelight Pictures. The movie is still on the German Index, so hopefully it will be uncut.

Good news: Capelight got the movie off the German index. No word about a new rating or street date. Both will be announced hopefully soon.

Hopefully Second Sight's release here in the UK follows too.

Is there any info regarding special features for this BD?
Also, is the listing from Amazon.de for a fully uncut release?

The movie has been re-rated and is now rated 16 instead of 18. So it's the uncut version even though the rating is lower now.

Thanks for the info.
Have you heard any info regarding special features? I'm torn between waiting for the specs for the UK release, or jumping for this one.

With Re-Animator, it's an easy decision (apparently the UK release won't have the alternate versions), but this one has me thinking.

The OFDb pre-order entry only lists a commentary by director Brian Yuzna and the theatrical trailer. I have not idea if these specs are final already but I've pre-ordered the Blu-ray and will leave a comment here regarding the special features when I get it end of September.

DiabolikDVD.com lists Society as being ALL REGION.

SOCIETY is Region Free, at least it played on my Region A machine with no problems. Nice transfer.

A question for those who own the German Society BD: did your copy came factory sealed with the usual plastic, or sealed with thin cellophane (like some cheaper labels do)?

I ask this because Amazon.de sent me a copy in appalling condition (dirty as hell, fingerprints and scratches on the disc), that was sealed in cellophane, and after I complained they sent me a replacement that came sealed exactly like that, and while not as bad as the first copy, it appears to have been used.

Got mine last month. I think mine came in cellophane too. Mine has a scratch on the case.

My copy of Assault on Precinct 13 from the same publisher also had a worn case.

its usually the case that amazon does sell used discs. (no wonder considering how many people return stuff without reason)
