There is no "Canadian" pressing of I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE. It's the Anchor Bay release. The only telltale sign is a tiny (1/4" diameter) Canadian Rating logo on the back of the cover insert. The disc even says "Made in USA". If you look at the listing on amazon.ca, you can see several pictures of the disc and packaging. Those images are accurate. There is no French anywhere on the disc or package. |

It's what on the disc that counts. The packaging is irrelevant.

You know, even though I'm Canadian, I rarely venture into this forum because I just assumed it was full of people who didn't really care about the bilingual nonsense that has driven me mad for years. So happy to see I was wrong.
Does anyone ever just give up and import from the States? I'm willing to pay the extra shipping, import fees, or whatever else they throw at me, than have to deal with this bilingual bullshit. Granted, my unwillingness to compromise sometimes causes me to miss out on some pretty sweet deals from Canadian retailers, but it's worth it. |

Alright, here's a question. I noticed that Amazon.ca has Halloween 4 and 5 on for $10 each. I still haven't upgraded from the DVDs, so now would be a perfect opportunity. It is listed as being distributed by Anchor Bay Canada, so that makes me a little nervous. What's the situation there?

I picked up a BD/DVD/UV combo pack at Future Shop on Sunday. On both the slipcover and case, it was listed as remastered with new special features. It was actually the 2006 disc repackaged. To answer your question, this release only has french text on the back.

Aside from just the packaging in French, has anyone noticed how many times a DVD/Blu-ray says "Dubbed in Quebec?"

And of course, a thumbs down to teh french language track, but not for spanish or portugese or any other foreign language, only french, always french like it is a world class disease. I can understand that as English speaking people you can't stand that your package contains french, but what does it change if the movie contains another language on it. |

Just picked up THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY at Costco for $72.79. Only the removable cardboard insert inside the shrink wrap has bilingual packaging. The box is all in English, from what I can tell. Not sure about inside, as I haven't opened it yet. Still need to read some more reviews on the set, if it's even worth keeping, considering I already have the trilogy of films on Blu already.
