The show, the title of which isn’t quite finalized, will be a one-hour format that “will focus on the evolution of the Goodman character before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer.” There isn’t a formal order for the show at this point, but that seems like a technicality. Once deals are inked for Vince Gilligan, Saul Goodman co-creator Peter Gould, and Odenkirk, we should have details on the order.

Deadline has the news. Expect the show to be a bit less dark than the parent show, and much more comic. Given the general characteristics of Saul Goodman, that won’t come as a surprise to anyone.

I know it's a little premature, but do you think the series will end right before he meets up with Walt for the first time?

no but I wouldn't be surprised if the prequel is Saul's tale of breaking bad

he's a good idealistic lawyer at first who can't catch a break and put the criminals behind bars so now he goes with the flow

This could either be really awesome...or really shitty. I hope they find a logical way to bring back characters from the show. It would be incredible if they figure out a way to bring in Bryan somehow

Unlikely - I believe Goodman only hired him at the start of season 4. Of course, they could have met before so he may pop up but not to the extent where he's hanging around the office every week.

Yup. However, Mike is fully in play

I'm guessing the first season will probably be 10 episodes since AMC likes to do that lately for certain shows. I'd like to see Mike in like 5 of them. And it would be awesome for a Gus cameo or even other bad guys from the past that might have used Saul. Jonathan Banks is filming Community for the rest of this year, but the pilot for this isn't supposed to film until next spring so he could probably be available. Like I said, there is some major potential for this if they do it right, and since Vince is involved, I think they will.
