Default Star Wars Episode 1 Release Date?

I'm interested in purchasing only episode 1 of the Star Wars saga as it is my favorite and I see that by itself, there is no release date but it is included in some packaged ones along with episode 2 and 3 which I really don't ever plan to buy.

Any idea when this might be released stand alone?

Might get released as a 3D Blu-ray someday, I suspect. Not sure it would be by itself though. But if you're getting Episode 1, why not 2 and 3? I understand not everyone is a completist, but these films are kind of a package deal. They're known as the prequel trilogy...

Wait, did you say Episode 1 is your favorite of the saga? I need to sit down for a minute.

You can get the first 3 for $30 used on Amazon. Figure $10 each and that's a pretty good deal. I'll withold the obligitory episode 1 put down.

I'm going to assume you mean the first film that was made.

I'm going to assume he understands that Episode 1 was not the first film made. I'm also going to assume that this is some parallel universe where Episode 1 was the winner of Best Picture and Jar Jar Binks became more popular than Boba Fett. I want to own that film too.

I can't believe someone would come onto a Blu-ray forum and start Nerd-Baiting. Where's the challenge? This has to be serious.

It's cheaper just to buy the collection.

Episode I will get a single disc release when Episode VII comes around in 2015 just shortly after Disney releases Episodes IV, V & VI in their unaltered glory, with the option to watch via seamless branching the All-New-Limited:

Tinker Belled Edition featuring Mickey, Mini, Goofy and Pluto as everyone's favorite heroes.....

Star Tours existed since 1987, and those figures came out years ago

Darth Scrooge McDuck in Episode VII is going to be the best Star Wars villain to date.

Whether or not Episode 1 gets released by itself all depends on if Fox wants to release them individually or. I'd imagine this will happen around the time of Episode 7. Fox is gonna wanna milk these movies all they can before they lose the rights.

LOL, I think if one wants to create a Disney hate aneurysm, they just need to post the video from the stage show where Chewbacca and Darth Vader dance to 70's hits that they do at Star Wars Weekends - and have done there for many years, long before the purchase.

It's really funny watching people cry over Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm, when it's easily the best thing that has happened to the franchise in decades.
