The Miller doc is 78 min. It goes into detail about his early career and what inspires him. It talks about how DC lured him, and how he basically is one of the fore fathers of creator's rights. Interestingly former DC head Jeanette Kahn talks about how they were at the forefront of creator's rights....yet convieniently forgets how she screwed over Alan Moore and his rights with Watchmen and V for Vendetta. But alas it is about Miller. Various people talk about the various things in the book to it's time period of when it came out. Also how Miller's themes have been used in other bat projects. Also is a interview with longtime inker and collaborator Klaus Janson. No interview though with colorist frequent collaborator Lynn Varley. That's one of the only things wrong with this.

Thank you...

Lynn Varley and Frank used to be married, and I wonder if because they are divorced, she doesn't want anything to do with him or The Dark Knight Returns.

I see special features on this disc I'm actually going to watch after I finish the movie which is the best solo DCAU film I've seen so far.

Millers interview seems dated and i think they shaped the doc around that.
I really doubt it was made for this deluxe edition.

USA Disc Stacking...and a quick fix for it.

I noticed a few people who picked up the exclusive early release at Best Buy complaining about how the Deluxe Edition has apparently stacked the discs in the case. I hate stacking just like most of you, however just thought I'd share a quick fix.

For those of you who happened to pick up the part 1 and 2 editions, this is for you!

Upon opening my copy of the deluxe edition and noticing the stacked discs, I promptly went over to my shelf and got the part 1 combo pack release and did the following:

1) Remove part 1 artwork and discs.
2) Remove deluxe edition artwork and stacked discs.
3) Place part 1 discs in the stacked ring (with Deluxe Edition DVD) remaining in the left ring. Place part 1 artwork on case and close.
4) Place deluxe edition discs in the now empty 2-disc case that was previously housing part 1 and then slip deluxe artwork on case and close.

Now you have the deluxe edition in a 2-disc case no stacking and the part 1 is stacked in the other case. Sure you're still technically stacking, however now that you have the feature on one disc and can watch it from start to finish without switching discs, doubtful you will ever watch it again separately anyway lol. Just an option I thought I'd share.

Oh and if you were lucky enough to not invest in parts 1 or 2 previously, no worries as this method will also work if you just happen to have an extra 2-disc bluray case floating around lol :-P

You could have just wrote:

"Put the discs in another case"

Here's my quick fix:

1.) Take DVD out of package
2.) Toss it in Trash
3.) Lift out Stacked Disc 1
4.) Place it in newly vacant Disc hub

Problem Solved

Pretty much what I was going to say. I guess it's good to have two "work arounds", for those that want the dvd.

True but I like to be thorough and let's face it, how many times have we seen people write simplistically like that and then you end up with an abundance of wasted space from members posting "Wait I don't understand, what about this disc or that disc, or what if I want to do this."

Lol just easier to write it all out as if it was being written to a child. That way it's one post and done. No followups haha. But thanks for your simplified version, got a chuckle out of it. Sometimes being thorough is not worth it I agree ;-P

ill deal with the stacking over mixing and matching, corrupting the packaging.

For now I just have the extra features disc in a spare CD case, once I have another extra 3 disc case I'll put it back with the other two discs. Hope this movie doesn't turn out to be a major inspiration for MoS 2, even I a lifelong Batman fan would find it hard to believe Bruce Wayne could defeat the son of Lara Lor-Van in single combat.

I usually just toss the DVD and use that space instead of stacking

theyve already are going for a seasoned Wayne vs Batman rookie.

and like Star Trek, I bet its going reference/remix the book somehow.

once Kryptonite enters the equasion......

but yeah....id hope to see a fresh take on the entire thing.

How is the new edit? Are there any new scenes or transitions (running time is two minutes longer apparently than the features on their own) or do they just start part 2 where 1 ends and that's it?
