Any idea when this might be released stand alone?
I assume not anytime soon since it's once again included on the prequel trilogy re-release.

It's sad to see such pointless, intolerant and condescending comments over a different opinion which is no less valid or right than yours.

Can't wait!

Btw, I own some of the Disney-characters-as-Star-Wars-characters toys. Love them! Bad Pete as Boba Fett is hi-larious IMO. Stitch as Yoda is perfect. Goofy as Cad Bane is possibly cooler than the real Cad Bane. Maybe. Heh

I like the whole prequel trilogy, despite their many flaws. Like them, love them, hate them, the prequels gave us new characters like Darth Maul, Count Dooku, General Grievous and Mace Windu.

There's a lot to like about each and every Star Wars film IMO.

It's true, we shouldn't ridicule someone for claiming Episode 1 as their favorite in the saga, but my personal reaction to such a statement is shock. But maybe that's because I grew up with the originals, back when the backstory seemed so epic and mysterious.

Episode 1 took away a lot of the wonderment in the series, thanks to seeing young Anakin, who apparently is Jesus and he built his own protocol droid, complete with a British accent (cuz he's classy like that), builds pod race cars and drives them, which no other human can, and is the most powerful Jedi ever, thanks to the overwhelming abundance of Midochlorians found in his blood stream.

Here I thought all those years, Anakin was a Jedi who lost his way. The prequels made it all too clear that he was just this crazy-unique God being who I guess couldn't handle his own awesomeness, so he lost his mind and tried to kill everyone, except Palpatine, cuz he's cool and always believed in him.

The moral of the story is to be weary of those who believe in you and don't try to be Jesus. It's not worth the headache. Just chillax, like Obi Wan and Yoda. Meditate. Chop your best friend's limbs off. Oh wait, don't do that. It'll just piss him off.

I grew up with the original trilogy, lived through the hangover period of the early 90's where Star Wars became irrelevant, waited in excitement for the Special Editions in theaters, as well as the prequel trilogy. And despite what The Internet™ says, the special editions and Episode I were met with excitement and rejoice by many. I was there on opening night when people who had just seen the movie bought tickets for the next session over and over, not to mention the long lines on the following weeks. Personally, and although irrelevant for the topic, I find A New Hope and The Phantom Menace to be my favourite chapters of the saga. They work very well as standalone movies and in my opinion are the ones who better capture the Star Wars "feel".

I am about to post something positive about Episode 1. OK, here it goes... Episode One isn't as terrible as Attack Of The Clones. Man, that took a lot out of me to post.

If there's one good thing about The Phantom Menace, it's the lightsaber duel on Naboo.

That fight is awesome.

It more than makes up for Jar Jar Binks and young Anakin.

I don't get the hate for young Anakin, he acted like a kid. Now teenage and adult Anakin was a spoiled brat who needed to be taken over Obi-Wan's knee and beaten.

I grew up with Episodes 4 ,5 & 6.
I saw 6 in a Drive-In!

That said, I prefer Episodes 1, 2 & 3.

They just have much more story and plot than the OT's "Hey, let's fight the Empire"

At least the PT gives a reason for why the Empire is so bad and needs to be overthrown... The OT doesn't, we just take the Rebel's word for it...

It' the constant yippies and whoops that he says, it's annoying as hell.

Lol at the idea of Obi-Wan beating the teenage/adult Anakin, he would deserve it.

Anakin was fine, but it was just the sloppy plotting of TPM that gets me.

You can clearly see that The Empire is bad in the OT when they're going around blowing up planets with their super weapons and causing the deaths of billions of innocent people.

That and being 9/10 years old he should be able to say "Especially" correctly, instead of "eXpesially"

Maybe Alderaan was making Super Weapons or Super Soldiers to fight a Legitimate Government and the Empire kept telling them that there would be consequences if they didn't stop... The Empire was left with NO choice BUT to blow them up...
