I'm afraid this show is 1 and done. Breaking Bad got a 2.2 in the demos and this got a 0.4.

It was a slow Sunday too, so I don't know what to think. I guess the expectations were way too high for this show and putting it after the final episodes of Breaking Bad essentially killed it.

Well, this is pretty much officially done.

Sunday's episode dropped yet again. 1,062,000 viewers and a 0.4 demo.

The 1135PM rerun of Breaking Bad got a higher demo

I took this off the DVR. Just couldn't get into it. I really wanted to, but couldn't.

I wanted to like this show, because I'm a big fan of Lennie James, but the story just didn't keep me hooked. Sad. He's capable of better material than this.

I haven't seen Sundays episode yet, but I've kept up with it.

It's for all intents and purposes as good as cancelled. It will finish the season since there is only 4 episodes left, but unfortunately ended up being a huge bust for AMC.

Putting it after Breaking Bad essentially killed it. I'm guessing that 90-95% of Breaking Bad's audience didn't want to give this a chance.

Bummer. Maybe Lenny James can make his way back to The Walking Dead.

I haven't tuned in since watching the series premiere, but from what I have heard it has gotten slowly better. The main issue I have heard many people bring up is that you just don't care about anything going on (or the characters for that matter). It's a shame really because Mark Strong, Lennie James, and David Constable are all excellent actors. I don't think AMC did any favors to this show by putting it on after Breaking Bad. I think AMC hoped Breaking Bad's viewers would stick around, but that backfired in a big way. I don't think pairing two drama heavy shows together was smart either. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know (for me personally) after watching an episode of Breaking Bad I need to take a mental break. The show tends to be very emotionally taxing (especially this past Sunday's episode). In the end it's all about quality. If this show was any good at all then it would of found some sort of an audience (a lot of people forget that Breaking Bad until this season and Mad Men have never pulled in monster ratings). I personally gave up after the series premiere because it just seemed like it was trying way too hard to be "edgy". I will take great character development, writing, and an intriguing plot over "edgy" any day of the week.

I think the "problem" (and I use quotation marks because I'm not convinced it really is a problem) is that this show is a slow burner, much like The Wire. Not that it's as good as The Wire -- nothing is -- just that it burns slowly. I suspect that the bulk of AMC's audience wants something with a little more pep in its step.

(Note that the other big series failure on AMC was Rubicon, which was another slow burner.)

Really trying to hang on, great cast and I like the gritty look and feel.

But Mark Strong, dude is sleepwalking his way thru this series.

Lennie James OTT scenery chewing is a bit laughable at tmes, but at least he's

fully awake with a damn pulse.

Maybe it will pick up steam toward the last few eppys.

Really? I think just the opposite. He's the glue holding it all together.

I must admit I am only disappointed in the fact that when my cousin introduced it to me he said it was like The Wire and The Shield....But I'm digging the show so far. I don't mind that its a slow burn. As long as they keep ramping it up it can only get better.

I liked it, for the most part, but I can't honestly say that I'll miss it.

On the other hand, I was happy that AMC renewed Hell on Wheels. Season 3 was notably better than the first two seasons.
