Hi everyone, I got Windvd 9 Plus Blu Ray last night and can't get it to play any ISO's that I mount. My desktop is the one with the blu ray drive, but I watch movies on my HTPC, so I make ISO's of all my movies in order to watch them in the living room. Has anyone else tried ISO's with this program? I use Daemon tools to mount the ISO's. Also, for regular DVD's I can't use any of the enhancements like the ALL2HD or anything, it's all greyed out. Any help would be appreciated. I hope I didn't just waste my money. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. The All2HD, all I can say, AMAZING!!! I can't believe how well it works. I wasn't expecting it to make even half the improvements it does. Has anyone had any luck with playing mounted ISO's yet??? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Has anyone managed to get mounted ISOs to work through WinDVD yet? I've got an HTPC and don't want to be getting up to change disks all the time. HD-DVDs seem fine through WinDVD but not Blu Ray for some reason.

Erm, I know this may sound dumb, but what's an ISO? I've always heard that term used in photography to describe the light sensitivity setting. Pretty sure that's not what you're talking about.

An ISO is basically a file that is an exact image of a disk whether it be DVD, Blu Ray, Hd-DVD.
If you have a media PC (HTPC) it is an ideal way to have your movie collection. These days I can't be bothered going and grabbing a DVD and sticking it in the machine so they're all imaged on the HTPC and can be called up instantly. it all works fine for me with PowerDVD but I can only get the sound to output in stereo which makes it a non starter. WinDVD mounts HD-DVD images and not Blu ray but does give 5.1 sound. Surely there's an easy way around this. |

i have windvd 9 also and it wouldn't play an ISO i created either. so i installed powerdvd, the one that came with my drive, i think it's version 7.3, and it played it just fine. i had problems playing blu ray discs with this version of powerdvd so i'm really surprised that i was able to play an ISO that i couldn't play in windvd 9. just wanted to add my 2 cents to the this old thread. thanks.

I just purchased WINDVD 9 bd.
I could use ALL2HD on iso images and ifo files, but not vob files directly. It would crash when playing BDs. So I installed the update module and then lost the ability to use ALL2HD except when actually playing DVDs. The file they changed was "PVBICNT.OCX". I copied the old file back into corel\dvd9 folder and got the option to use ALL2HD back again(except on vob files). Hope this helps anyone out there. If anyone can help getting to play vob files please post reply. Maybe an older version of PVBINCT.OCX. |

I use AnyDVD HD to rip BD to ISO, then use VirtualCloneDrive (free) to mount the ISO. WinDVD 9 has absolutely no problem playing these ISOs.
My video cards and display are HDCP compliant, though. |

Some versions of WinDVD BD sold with Sony Vaio notebooks come without the ability to access ISOs (disk images on a hard drive). They will play only discs one buys or has burned. Is there any way to remove that limitation without buying the usual retail version of WinDVD? I suspect the answer is no, but maybe there is a legitimate workaround.
