Default Favorite Horror Film Series

Halloween month has started. How about a poll on favorite Horror film series...I am excluding Alien, Jaws, Hannibal, Psycho which are probably a little more than horror movies.

Had to go with Friday, but Halloween is the best individual film IMO.

When I started thinking about the horror franchises listed, F13, Halloween, Child's Play, TCM, and a few others, ANOES, Hellraiser, even Candyman, etc., it dawned on me that I don't think I legitimately like more than 50% of any of the entries in any of these movie franchises.

These are some of my favorite movies and I watch them all but that's not a good ratio. I'd go with F13 just because their mediocre is still pretty bearable, I just can't get through Goes to Hell, but the bad in some of the other is really a test of virtue sometimes to sit through for several movies.

Of those listed, Halloween is my favorite. But I have more fun watching several of the Phantasm and It's Alive films.

Amen!

I've never really cared for any horror franchise as that. I generally like the first 2-3 movies in a franchise and usually after that the overall story goes downhill.

When it comes to a great horror movie that was turned into a franchise, its a tie between A Nightmare on Elm Street and Hellraiser for an awesome movie that will always stand the test of time.

Gotta mention the Leprechaun series.....if you like that kind of thing.

Young Jennifer Aniston is great in the first one

A Nightmare On Elm Street! Friday The 13th is a close second, followed extremely closely by The Evil Dead.

Final Destination for the win. Especially the highway scene in the second film. The bus scene from the first movie still gets me as well.

I love the first Halloween film and the first two Friday the 13th films more than I love any single Final Destination movie, but Final Destination wins when it comes to a series as a whole. I enjoy how the Final Destination movies keep things interesting while adhering to a formula that works.

The Final Destination movies have such a great message. Be nice to other people, and enjoy life, because you never know when some random hazard is going to take you down.
