Default Diagnose PS3/Burnout problem.

Hi all, hoping to get some feedback on an issue I am having and my theory.

My PS3 is a 60gb unit, have had it about 8-9 months. Have cleaned it on ocassion (every 4-6 weeks).

I have had an issue twice now (just now, and about a month ago) while playing Burnout. I have never had the issue with any other game. While doing a burning route or some very long and/or fast race (i.e. continually doing boost) the game will stop but the music keeps playing. The car stops dead where it is (motor noise still going) and after about half a second everything continues as normal. No lock-up, no crashing (of the system, not my car) or anything else.

The reason I mentioned the music still playing is that I have 2 theories, which are based on the fact that burnout streams things from the disc (i.e. no load times):

1) It is actually possible to go so fast in the game that I travel across the map faster than it can load
2) My PS3 is dirty and needs cleaned.

I suppose it is also possible that it is a combination of the two (i.e. it has trouble reading, therefore it is possible for me to get into a situation where there is no data in the system's RAM.

Has anyone else had a similar issue with the game and/or any other game?

If it is something serious I would prefer to have Sony look into it before my 1 year is up (I think it's a 1 year warranty?) However, before I waste my time calling I want to see if this is a known issue.

Thanks!

I'd see if it still happens after the Burnout patch released this Thursday.

Shin-Ra: Thanks, will check that out.

un4gvn95483: Not that I know of... it's on a glass stand with nothing within 18 inches of any side of it (except the bottom of course). I'd say not, especially because I love to run the AC really low.

Its done that a couple times to me when i use that crazy car with the V16. I think it's just the game. None of my other games do it. I have a 60Gig from launch day. Guess we'll see if the update ends that.

1) Clean your PS3 more often just out of principle
2) It's not the hardware's fault (and shame on you for thinking so!)
3) It's a software problem.

1) I have multiple air filters in my home so I get very little dust, otherwise I probably would clean it more :-)
2) I wasn't sure! You can't blame me for that! I thought I was just too *good* for the system to handle my skillz!!!
3) I'm beginning to see that.

Thanks all for your input.

I think it's just a glitch in the game. I get weirdness happening all the time.
