Hana & Alice LE bluray with LE Box for Love Letter + April Story LE blurays...
http://www.kimchidvd.com/en/good/goo...good_seq=19537 Curiously, this release says it has no English subs, unlike the other 2 releases from Contents Gate. Still hoping that's a mistake but, I can't say that I'm surprised. Here is another view of the included box for the set: ![]() |

Release date 10-07-2010... huh? Have we gone back in time?
H&A is one of my favorite films, so I'm very disappointed it doesn't appear to have English subs (particularly since the Korean DVD has them). Can someone who's gotten this confirm? |

YesAsia has a release date of 10-16-2013.
The extras appear to be the same as the Korean DVD. It's hard to imagine they couldn't find a few kB for English subs. |

Hard to imagine... but unfortunately true.
I received the disc today and I can confirm that there are no English subs. What a shame – all the more so because it's packaged in a beautiful slipcase inside of a box that also holds "April Story" and the limited edition of "Love Letter." Sigh. |

I received mine on Friday. Hana & Alice really is a nice slipcase with the glossy pictures and inside pictures and writing like the April Story slip. The box set case is a nice bonus... makes a very collectible package. But you are right... what a shame to have just one small but important detail missed with the missing sub. In looking at the sub menu, I have to wonder if someone made a mistake... there are 2 Korean subs included and they look identical at first glance. The disc also has English friendly menus. If it's a mistake, then the company should fix it.

Well, since this thread is alive again... I popped in the blu-ray a week or two ago and compared it against the Korean SE DVD.
Absolutely no contest. The blu-ray makes the DVD look like it was transferred by shooting it off a wall with the lights out. What a shame there aren't any English subs! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I watched Hana and Alice + April story this week and getting this boxset would have been a treat. If only they would re -release with English subs though.

I received the Anime Ltd. "Case Of Hana And Alice" blu-ray and watched it last night. I found the film completely charming, and beautifully animated (and, no, guy-who-wrote-the-Amazon-review, it's not supposed to be a "crime" movie. You really haven't seen many Iwai films, have you?). The blu-ray (locked to Region B, unfortunately) looks perfect. The only extra is a long interview with Makoto Shinkai. It would have been nice to have had some "making of" footage, or an interview with Iwai. A few "artcards," booklet (unfortunately, with a number of terrible misspellings) and nice, heavy box round out the package. On the other hand, it seems like I've been waiting ages to see an English-friendly issue of this... so these complaints are just nit-picking.
