Pearl Harbor? What is this film of which you speak?

Definitely "Tora, Tora, Tora". "Pearl Harbor" was an incredible waste of budget and potential.

I guess the poll results kind of say it all! Although I'm also looking forward to getting FROM HERE TO ETERNITY on Blu-ray this fall, even if I have to import it from England like I did with TORA! TORA! TORA! a good year before its US release!

I used to own Pearl Harbor on DVD, because, when I lived in a house with several friends years ago, one of them gave it to me as a Christmas present. It's admittedly a fun guilty pleasure movie.

Yes, I know what all of you are thinking...

The old "I owned Pearl Harbor because I received it as a Christmas present." line.

In my case, though, I swear to God that I'm telling the truth. It really was a Christmas gift.

I can tell that you people don't believe me. Whatever...

It occurs to me that, if I were to buy a Pearl Harbor Blu-ray, I would get to see Jaime King in high definition. I have to say that this is insanely tempting, all of a sudden.

Not really sure on this one--

TORA TORA is truly a snoozefest except for the Pearl Harbor attack... which is impressive for it's day...

PEARL HARBOR delivers a terrific Pearl Harbor attack sequence and is a little more entertaining in a soap opera sort of way... but I have to put up with Ben Affleck which is always a chore...

neither one comes close to being in my favorite war movies list....

Even asking this question is insulting. TTT is an excellent film whereas the only scene worth watching in PH is the Arizona bomb drop. TTT gets 9/10 whereas PH gets 2/10.

Tora! Tora! Tora! The Japanese Extended Cut is vastly superior. Pearl Harbor is more like a soap opera with lousy special effects. Anyone notice the mothballed post WW II navel ships used in the attack scenes?

I did not even know there was an extended cut. Is there English dialogue?

Yes and no. The American scenes are in English. The Japanese scenes are in their native language with sub titles. It's very authentic and well done.
