Australia The Burning

I'm torn between getting the Shout Factory disc or waiting for the local release both are roughly the same price ATM will the features be the same?

Speaking for myself, Gattman, I haven't replied because i had no idea of the answer. But I'm interested in the film.

Can I ask what answer you found?

I'm guessing because the film isn't out yet?

I am 100percent sure not going to same!!

Today, purchase 'The Maniac' release in Cinema cult (shock).

Do not have any subtitle (even english) and special feature is only trailer!

I don't think either of these posts identify anything that would definitively state which is the best option. I'd always judge which Blu-ray is the best based on picture and audio quality of the main feature (after all, funnily enough you're buying it for the movie) and only then take into consideration special packaging, features etc. Assuming Gattman's right and we miss out on the commentaries then fair enough, that's one mark against the local release. snsdfan: I'm not sure why a lack of subtitle options and special features on a completely different release should impact your decision on a future release. Yes, it might have the same limited options assuming the studio has the same approach to each of their releases but their release of Masters of the Universe contradicts this and even then there's once again the potential for superior picture and audio quality also...

Being that it doesn't get released until next month it'll be quite a while until we know how it fares in the picture and audio quality department.

Thanks Gattman.

OK, so that's one worthwhile bit of info to weigh into the decision.

I'd have no issue with paying $10-20 for the local release if the Picture and Audio were correct. Anything else is a bonus. I mean I barely watch or listen to any special features anyway

I have the US edition already but as this is a favourite I'd like a Reg B version too to watch upstairs

Does anyone know if it's the same transfer? I'm guessing it's a part port of the US as the extras are the same sans the commentaries.

I'd be interested to hear how this release is if anybody's picking it up today. I've ordered from JB-Hi-Fi but it won't be here for about 10 days

There is a scan of the back of the case over at DVD Orchard and there is no mention of special features or additional DVD copy

Actually DVD Orchard back cover is wrong. I just received copy and It written all the special features. Also other title as well such as Lifeforce,House by the cemetery and the beyond. It is only one disc edition.
