Entertainment Weekly, as they always seem to do, scored themselves the very first still from "Witches of East End," starring Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Rachel Boston, and Madchen Amick. Check it out!
The ten-episode series, produced by Fox 21, will premiere later this year. "Witches of East End" was one of four hourlong pilots Lifetime ordered last summer. Patrick Heusinger and Daniel Ditomasso play brothers Dash and Killian Gardiner.
Based on Melissa de la Cruz’s best-selling novel, "Witches of East End" centers on the adventures of Joanna Beauchamp (Ormond) and her two adult daughters, Freya (Dewan-Tatum) and Ingrid (Boston), both of whom unknowingly are their family’s next generation of witches. The three Beauchamp women--Joanna and her daughters, Freya and Ingrid--live in North Hampton, out on the tip of Long Island. Their beautiful, mist-shrouded town seems almost stuck in time, and all three women lead seemingly quiet, uneventful existences. But they are harboring a mighty secret--they are powerful witches banned from using their magic. Joanna can resurrect people from the dead and heal the most serious of injuries. Ingrid, her bookish daughter, has the ability to predict the future and weave knots that can solve anything from infertility to infidelity. And finally, there's Freya, the wild child, who has a charm or a potion that can cure most any heartache.
For centuries all three women have been forced to suppress their abilities. But then Freya, who is about to get married, finds that her increasingly complicated romantic life makes it more difficult than ever to hide her secret. Soon Ingrid and Joanna confront similar dilemmas, and the Beauchamp women realize they can no longer conceal their true selves. They unearth their wands from the attic, dust off their broomsticks, and begin casting spells on the townspeople. I really enjoyed the first season and looking forward to more.
I did hate that the guy that was bothering Ingrid got out so easily I wanted it to be more painful!
I know Lifetime gets a wrap that it isn't for guys but they have had several things of late that I found interesting like the Client List, now Witches of East End and the upcoming film Lizzie Borden Took an Ax with Christina Ricci looks interesting along with the upcoming Flowers In the Attic which I'm not sure if its a series or movie?
