We're happy to report that we've gone back into our "vaults" and will be bringing the original 1982 SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE film to Blu-ray for the first time in early 2014! This will be a brand new HD transfer taken from the original camera negative. We had many requests for this and we're pleased to be able to bring this into the Scream family.

As many of you know, we released this film on DVD back in 2010 along with Parts 2 & 3 as a part of a "Roger Corman's Cult Classics" collection. For several factors (mostly financial), we can only bring you the original at this time on Blu but if sales are solid, we will certainly consider 2 & 3 for the future.

So excited for this.

I'll be fine if the sequels don't come to Blu-ray.

Though if they do, I'd expect a combo pack; they'd have to be out of their minds to release each film individually.

I have never been a fan of this movie...never sat right with me for reason I don't know why. Maybe because it is almost poking fun at the Slasher genre in a way I didn't really respond to, I get defensive over certain genre's you know

Almost caved in a bought the trilogy DVD, so glad I waited now.

Hopefully at least part 2 is released eventually as well.

I would've preferred a Blu-ray version of the 3-pack, but I can totally understand why they can't do it. Is this the first time the film has been transferred from the OCN?

I remember I had to write an essay on this and it's sequel in an Art school genre film class about 25 years ago (what an fun easy-A that class was!). I remember thinking a little bit of, "oh, the feminists in Art school think this is acceptable because it's directed by a woman." but I basically enjoyed the movie. It'll be great to see this again and see how it sits with me.
