Any idea if this will be a fold out digipak or a jumbo amaray with possibly a slipcover? Hoping for an amaray case myself, not really crazy on fold out cardboard packaging.

Here's What We Know For Certain (Timinings may be in PAL, so could vary on the BD or internationally):

The Whole Blu-ray Package (as released in Australia will contain) 642 minutes worth of content - individual breakdown unavailable. (Source: Australian Classification)

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Jouney (Extended Edition) - 175 mins (Source: IFCO)

The Songs of The Hobbit - 27:54 (Source: BBFC)

A Long Expected Journey: The Chronicles of The Hobbit - Part 1 (Introduction by Peter Jackson) - 01:47 (Source: BBFC)
A Long Expected Journey: The Chronicles of The Hobbit - Part 1 (Opening) - 2:33 (Source: BBFC)
A Long Expected Journey: The Chronicles of The Hobbit - Part 1 (Individual Credits) - 3:34 comprised of several smaller items (Source: BBFC)

We know the individual breakdowns. I listed them some weeks back (total 372 mins). Also the ones I listed are just part of it.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=131

If you take the extra listed in my post and add what you've listed above including the movie that gives us a grand total of 581 mins.

Andrew

The Aussie Blu ray says 642 minutes worth overall. So 61 minutes still left, by the look of it...

Which makes 10.7 hours worth of material (inc. film and commentary separately)

So, taking out the 182 minute film (and assuming the commentary lasts the same) that leaves us with 278 minutes of extras - or 4 hours and 38 minutes.

The LOTR:EE had around six hours each but, considering the split into a trilogy would have affected the making-of material as well, I'm very happy with that amount. Can't wait to dig into them.

The only thing I'm disappointed in is the lack of extra commentaries, especially a cast one. Still, looking forward to hearing Jackson's.

The cynical side of me thinks, they may be holding back on some things (perhaps extra commentaries) for the trilogy boxset.

I don't think Peter Jackson would do that to the fans, but as we discovered with LOTR he doesn't necessarily get his way all the time...

any news yet on what packaging we are going to get here? the stock photo doesn't look like its the fold out digipack the US is getting. Are we just getting an amaray in a slip? it wouldn't surprise me if warner bros was skimping on packaging as the US Man of Steel as more content than what we're getting. So I've heard anyway.

We're missing one feature from Man of Steel. Not worth going apeshit over...

I think it will be a Jumbo-Amaray with slip cover.

Really liked the LotR EE edition DVD packaging.
I doubt they will spend the extra time or cost anything like that
Just generic and mass produced doesn't make it feel special

Of course it will happen - just not until Christmas 2015.

Assuming Warner can secure the rights to LOTR. Which whilst likely, isn't guaranteed...

Has Warner recently lost the rights to LOTR?

I think someone's getting confused about the difference between New Line and Warner Brothers when in reality they're now the same company.

Plus, New Line films used to be distributed in the UK by Entertainment in Video might add to the confusion.
