Just wondering if any of yous have been taken advantage of this promo?
* It does count towards adding PS+ $49.99 memberships. * PSN purchases of $50 or more Example of buying a $60 game would carry forward $10 if you buy another game for $40 ala $20 PSN credit in this scenario. ![]() Offer expires soon. SO I saw this pre-order action
It says buy BF4 now for PS3, upgrade later for $10 to PS4 So if I buy it in PSN store for $50, I get $10 credit And then I can use that $10 credit to upgrade to BF4 for PS4 later on So basically I can buy BF4 for PS3 AND PS4 for only $50 when purchasing via the PSN Store? |

You can use the $10 for anything sold in the PS Store.
I'm not sure if there are restrictions with the game promos. The $10 will be added to your wallet & counts as regular PSN currency so I don't see why that scenario wouldn't work. ![]() |

But providing that you can do the same with the digital copies of the Ps3 version, turning it into a Ps4 version as well, then yes. That $10 credit can be used for anything in the store. |

![]() Post updated. Wasn't sure cuz last April they gave me $10 for every $50 I put in my wallet. Bought 3 games, got $60 back. Oops on their part. ![]() So maybe Sony will continue this promo every April & August. ![]() |

So it works with physical copies as well? Hmm...
I think I am gonna do this; Buy the physical copy of each of the 4 games, probably $50 each. Immediately redeem the code on my PS3 for the PS4 later (download it from PSN store). Sell the physical copies for like 30-35$ each. So if I do it correctly, this would be it; 50 x 4 = 200 on the physical copies 4 x 10 = 40 for the PS4 copies = 240 35 x 4 = 140 resell physical copies 240 - 140 = 100 spend to get the 4 games on PS4, each $25 instead of $50. Could this work? :P |

I'm gonna sell/trade my digital code for Call of Duty Ghosts PS4 edition. I'm getting the Ps3 version and will not be getting a Ps4 anytime soon, so I have no need for the PS4 code where you can upgrade for $10

MINOR REASONS Only two games that I'm interested really interested in that aren't also coming to the PS3 (Watch Dogs and AC4 are both on PS3). Those two are The Order and Infamous 3, and neither are launch titles. My Ps3/PSN titles will not be playable on the PS4. I was set to upgrade and just have THAT as my gaming machine, but considering I can't play my older games on the PS4, and I can't really feasibly (in my apartment with old wiring and already too many things plugged in) have both. I waited til 2008 to get a PS3, so I can wait a year or so for PS4. MAJOR REASON They changed the DRM rights with the games to where you have to be logged into the purchasing account in order to play the games. Currently I have my brother on my account. My account is on his PS3 and mine, and he can log in and download my games and then log into his account and play them, earn trophies, etc. PS4 did away with that. You can have your account on as many PS4's as you want, but you have to be logged into the purchasing account to play them. That's a deal breaker for me, at least as far as getting that anytime soon. People can call me whatever they want due to my stance on that particular issue, but that's how I feel. I may get a Ps4 one day, once they have at least 10 games that I give a shit about, but as of right now, no go. |

Sorry Groo, forgot about the PSN account change you mentioned earlier.
![]() I'm still not sure how the rules apply to PSN accounts. ![]() I want to be able to sign-in on these consoles below without any de-activation what so ever, PS4 x1 PS3 x2 PS Vita x1 I know one pain in the arse I have already will be to share 1 HDMI cable between 2 consoles. (PS3/4) I understand & felt the same way at first regarding PS3/PSN titles not being able to transfer or play on PS4. For me that was the biggest hurdle to get over. I think my entire collection on PS3 isn't evenly split anymore, meaning I think I have more digital games then physical. So to get over that hurdle, I can only make sense of getting a PS4 if I also keep a PS3. As you mentioned that is not an option for you. The launch line-up has definitely got a kick in the balls. However I do look forward to PS4 PSN titles.. Probably more so then retail. Anyway, 2014 Summer will probably be a better time to jump in. Don't forget to download the free games for PS4 even though you will not have one. That will make the purchase more appealing when you do decide to go for it & maybe some of those launch games will sell for less as well. ![]() |

I do like how they have CrossBuy for Flower, Flow and Soundshapes. So I can download Flower & Flow on the PS4 (although I never play Flow, so I probably won't for that one). Would be nice to get more PS3/PS4 Crossbuys, such as Hustle Kings and Journey, and even though I know it'll never happen, Savage Moon. I'll probably save up until Black Friday 2014 and get a good deal then on a console bundle. Maybe Uncharted 4 will be out by then. ![]() |

Also something else that sucks is that digital media on PS4 is MASSIVE. Retail games are supposedly 50GB each or somewhere around that.
Even with an upgraded 1 TB hard drive, that's not feasible long term. They must really not want anyone to go strictly digital with sizes that big. smh My entire collection (save two or three games) are 100% digital, even retail releases. I have a few ps3 games on disc, but only because they are not available on the store (Wet, Conan and Soul Calibur IV). I have a couple that my brother has of mine like Sniper Elite V2 and the NCAA/Madden games that I gave him, but other than that everything is digital. That's impossible to build up a collection on digital like I have on the PS4, and actually be able to have them all installed. |

![]() I'll be surprised if any of the launch titles run close to 40GB. At this point, I ain't gonna guess. We will know the file sizes soon. ...but yeah When I say I want a 3TB HDD, I mean it. PS3 = lesson learned. ![]() |
