Time To Sell PS3? - Getting Ready For PS4 - Blu-ray Forum

Hey all... I am thinking of selling my PS3 system, extra controller, God of War - Ascension and video remote. I am getting ready for PS4 and XBOX One.

Is there a way to clear out the PS3 to remove all personal information? I will check, but I think there is a format in Settings.

Anyone else going to do this soon? I think now is the time to get more $$$, the closer to the PS4 launch I feel the price will drop.

I have only 3-4 purchased online games on PS3, but I have 30-40 arcade games on the XBOX 360. So, I might have to keep my XBOX 360 for a while.

im not planning to sell mine maybe till next year. Theres still the dlc for the last of us and bioshock that i wanna play.

PS4 has no Backwards Compatibility. I'd hold on to it.

I never keep my old systems, going back to Genesis, Super Nintendo and Turbo Grafx16 days... I have sold them all.

Plus, I really only used the PS3 for Blu-Ray movies... so like I said I only have one game on Blu-Ray and 3-4 arcade games from PSN. I am not worried about Wipeout HD, Pixle Junk - Monsters, TG16 -Dungeon Explorers, Flower, Tetris, Dragons Lair, Journey and the PS1 Oddworld. WOW! I actually have 8 downloaded games...

My daughters can watch Blu-Ray movies upstairs until the PS4 and XBOX One get here. Time to get some money $$$ -

Don't forget to go into account management and deactivate your system. then copy off anything of yours (music, videos, photo's) then hit the format button. That should clear off everything ready for a new owner.

Thanks partridge... I don't have any music or movies on the PS3... just the games I listed above.

But I will make sure to check the account and deactivate it.

Under System Settings go to Restore system to factory defaults & accept.

Over the weekend I traded in a few ps3 games. Didn't get that much for them but 25 quid towards a second controller won't go amiss. Or maybe the camera?

Anyway, I now have only 6 ps3 games that I'll be hanging onto for posterity!

Tomb Raider; collectors tin box edition
Beyond two souls special edition
The Last of Us special edition
Killzone 2
Killzone 3 Helghast edition
Heavy Rain

With my PS+ subscription I have a few more games actually on the console though.

i wish i could get rid of the ps3 but sadly dark souls II isnt out until march so ill have my ps3 set up well into next holiday at least ..

Holding on to mine as long as we keep getting PS+ games. I have a US and UK account and it's awesome. I have so much purchased through the PSN it's not even funny. I used to get $10 gift cards about three times a month from my SONY credit card. Aside from that I still have physical copes of GoW3, GoW Collection, Ni No Kuni, the most recent MGS Collection, Valkyria Chronicles, The Last of Us and Uncharted 1-3.

I thought about it but the kids wont get a ps4 for awhile so Im keeping both ps3s we have. My boys can keep 1 (which I can borrow when needed be) and the 2nd can go to my daughters mom house so my kids can little big planet while she is at her moms lol

I'm keeping my PS3, my backlog is crazy right now. I honestly don't know why I'm getting the PS4 day 1. I'll have both hooked up to the living room TV.

I'll be keeping mine going for as long as PSN+ games come too. So many I've not played of this generation and I imagine we'll get some corkers next year. I see no reason to get shot of it.

I'm going to keep mine, still got games to play and it's still an awesome bluray player. There isn't much money to be earned by selling it at this point in time.

Definitely not selling mine. There is a bunch of stuff from this year I won't have the time to get to, there are DLC trails still to play and if I want to reference or go back to something in the future I know I'll want the option.
