I won't be getting rid of mine - in fact, I'm contemplating trading up to the newest model as I have the old 80GB version with an upgrade to a 500GB hard drive. There are many games I have yet to play, such as Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls, not to mention Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix and Final Fantasy X|X-2 coming out next year... and all my backlog from PS+.

My Ps3 is here to stay....easy way to play all Uncharted games, old PSone and having a blu ray per room isn't bad

I normally do the same thing when moving on to the next generation. Clean break, no looking back! However this transition is a bit different because I've purchased so much digital content on my PS3 that doesn't carry over to PS4, nor can I trade in for obvious reasons. It wouldn't make any sense to trade in a system and essentially be throwing away all the money I've spent on downloadable content.

Plenty of room in my media tower, just get rid of the Wii that has sat there for two years without being turned on.

Same here. I keep all of my old systems excluding the red ring 360's I was sent through Microsoft. Still own the Colecovision, Nintendo, Sega Master System, Genesis, PS1, PS2, and PS3.

Many games never come back digitally and are only available through the game system. Too much invested over the years to give up on such a "museum of video game history".

At least once a year, I'll plug in an old system and relive some fun memories.

Way too many games coming out for the PS3 through the end of this year and next year for me to ever get rid of my PS3.

I keep all of my old systems. Not only do I plan to keep both of my PS3s after I get PS4 at launch, but I may buy a 3rd PS3 sometime next year.

I current have a slim with a 2(?) gig HDD. It's running fine but I'm thinking of buying my brothers BC launch system instead of having him trade it in. He's never had an issue with it but I'd hate to buy it and get some PS2 games and have it die within a year.

Well, it is OVER... the PS3 is gone with a total of three controllers.

I also got rid of the PS Eye and about 3 games total (X-Box 360 and PS3).

I was able to buy 2 - DS4 PS4 controllers and NBA2K14 for PS4 and Dead Rising 3 for XBOX One.

And get this...

THEY GAVE ME THE DS4 PLAYSTATION CONTROLLERS - they are in hand.

These thumb sticks are TINY! I am scared to open the boxes...

I would definitely be trying to use them on my PC if I had one already.

While you're getting rid of stuff..

Just bought a new PS3 Slim 320GB.

I don't trust (though never tried) the disc drive on any SSlim model & I am keeping & collecting more PS3 games as prices on AAA games have finally come down.

There is one final PS3 game I'm interested in and that's Batman Origins. I'm quietly hoping a PS4 version might appear in the new year...

You may get your wish. With Injustice (Warner) coming to PS4, Lego Marvel (Warner) coming to PS4 ... Batman Origins (Warner) ....

Nice collection! You have pretty much every system.
I forgot to list the Dreamcast as another TV gaming console. I have to load that up and record some of those games before I forget. Gamegear also, but only a few games on it.

A 3rd PS3 for? It could be worth something if sealed in the box years from now.

Thanks!

Well, there are a lot of systems that I don't own (a few offhand that come to mind are Colecovision, Atari Jaguar, Neo Geo, 3DO, etc.), but I have all Nintendo consoles to date, all Sega consoles except for the master system, all 3 Playstations and both Xboxes... and one Atari. LOL

Right now, though, I'm not sure if I'll ever get the Xbox One. Not so much for any kind of anti-MS mentality (though I'm still not thrilled with what they were originally trying to do with it), but more so that I've actually found owning both PS3 and 360 rather redundant as there is very little in exclusive content on 360 that I care about. I won't get rid of my 360 because I have a lot of content (particularly Rock Band and Guitar Hero content) that I have no intention of rebuying on PS3.

I could always change my mind down the road if something only on Xbox One compels me enough to take the plunge, but for now it's going to be the PS4/Wii U combo for me for the next gen.

Oh yeah, I didn't list my portables. I never did get Gamegear, but I do have a Gameboy, Gameboy Advance SP, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, a Nintendo 3DS, and a PSP.

I may upgrade to a 3DS XL in the near future, and once I transfer my data I'll probably give my 3DS to my sister, as she has been interested in getting one.

I'll probably also eventually get a Vita, but that won't be until sometime next year at the soonest.

It's mostly to have an extra back up of any DLC that I have purchased from before they changed the limit of installing on 5 systems to 2. Plus if I get one of the newer top loading models, I'll end up having all 3 major model revisions (I currently have an 80GB Phat and a 120GB slim, both of which I've upgraded to 750GB hard drives). Not that I normally make it a point to rebuy systems simply because of a change in design, but if I'm going to do it anyway, I may as well have all 3 variations.

I'm going to wait it out since they'll likely come out with some kind of GOTY/Ultimate edition of the game with all DLC on the disc and release it on PS4 and Xbox One in addition to PS3 and 360. I'll go for the PS4 version, of course.
