Default Akira Kurosawa The Masterworks Collection

Any of these kind of sets in the works for an american release? These are just too expensive from Japan. You'd be way better off getting each movie individually. Should I do so, or wait and see if a set is coming?

Why would you want to deprive yourself the enjoyment of watching his films at home on BD just because you are waiting for a complete boxset of his work? The Japanese boxsets were released in 2009 and 2010 and I haven't heard anything suggesting similar sets will be released here.

I don't see it happening, just get the individual releases. Criterion would be the one to release such a set here, but it's highly unlikely.. If they were to do something similar to the Zatoichi set then most likely the movies included would be barebones compared to the individual releases (just like the AK 100 set). They don't have the rights to all of his movies either, so it certainly wouldn't be a complete collection of his work.
