Default PC gamepads and PnP

I found out the PS3 will take Plug and Play gamepads and joysticks and allow them to be used as Controller One, but I have two questions about it:

1.

Are buttons aligned with their correct positions on the Sixaxis? If the controller I plug in has the same amount of button in the right places, will they be at their right places?

2.

I like the 360 controller, but I also like the PS3 controller, and getting a 360 is out of the question for me, so I went for a scavenging hunt for controllers similar to the 360 one. I've understood the wired 360 controller doesn't work, but how about the Chillstream PC controller;

It appears to have the right amount of buttons. Does anyone know if it's Plug and Play, and if it would work in the PS3?

Thanks.

Well, that's the thing, I sort of expect them to want me to buy the slightly more expensive Chillstream PS3 controller instead.

I found a review for the controller and it said
Quote:
According to the manual, you are to install the drivers for the Chillstream before you even connect the gamepad to your PC. Following these simple steps, we had the controller up and going in no time. Before we get into gaming with the Chillstream, let's take a closer look the gamepad itself.
So basically this particular controller is out of the question. Are there any similar ones that are plug-and-play? I'm ready to pay quite a lot.

EDIT: Okay, now this is weird;
This preview from 2006 claims it is PS3 compatible! I need help with this.

Some plug and play devices still need to install drivers, I have flash drives that on occasion need to be installed before ran.

Theres a chance the ps3 will be able to recognize it, but only through trial and error will we know for sure.

Im sorry to inform you that I do have the resources necessary to perform that test, aka money, so I shall leave that to a more resource ready person.

The only reason I threw a chance is my g4 custom dark messiah laser mouse was read instantly by the ps3, my computer on the other hand says it doesn't know what the hell it is and tells me to remove it.

My zboard required 4 driver installations to be partially recognized by my computer, another 2 driver installations to get the usb hubs on it to work,
and I think 2 more for it to accept it as a zboard usb keyboard.

Ps3 recognized it off the bat no installations needed.

The only problem I see Is nobody knows if it will respect the button placement.

I shall place all my hopes in your glorious victory.

Let the glory and victory be yours.
