Australia Protecting Steelbooks

Gday all,

Ive got a few steelbooks in my collection, and I'm a bit paranoid about them being scratched or damaged...

Do people do anything in particular to protect them, or know of any locally available products that can be used to protect them? Like a clear slip or something?

Cheers

I'm not aware of anywhere in AUS that sells them. Your best bet would be eBay I would think. Do a search for 'steelbook sleeve' and there's quite a few sellers. I've used the resealable ones without any issues. Although they are not as snug as a factory seal, they do the job.

There's also the clear protective 'slipcovers' which look quite good but more pricey

Rhinz, the only thing I've come across is this, from a local company called PCX. I've used PCX products before, and found them good quality and reliable, but I have no experience of this specific product. And it doesn't seem to come in a size specific to steelbooks, so I don't know how well it would fit.

Not a lot of help, I'm afraid, but PCX might be able to point you in a useful direction.

Thanks guys, I had a look on eBay as per your recommendations and found some nice looking clear slips!

Best way to protect them is not to buy them

Default Steelbooks

I usually have some blank blu-ray cases and DVD cases laying around. So I just use them to protect steelbook,

I'm currently using bags like the ones MacEachaidh linked to and they do the job.

There's also this as an alternative to the ones on ebay. About $33 for 25 delivered.

I just use comic book mylar bags and magic tape. Far from a snug fit but I don't care

Ah. they look good, I have been using resealable plastic bags, just slightly bigger than a steelbook, but these things look perfect.
