holy crap. ok so IA III is up for preorder already . . . any idea when any of these will start popping up? im buying about 8 of them day 1.

im a little worried about the masters they will be using for some of them though . . . i know the wong kar-wai flicks got remasterd to HD for the recent Korean DVD releases (which look great). heres hoping thats what megastar uses.

Ashes of Time, which is not yet part of this batch of leaked titles, is set to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival this year boasting a brand new, restored, print. It is part of the "Special Screenings" series. So, perhaps there was work done on the rest of the films mentioned here.

In any event, there are some very good titles to be had.

I fear for the quality to be honest, but Inferal Affairs turned out OK, maybe MegaStar has mended their DVD ways.........

I wonder if anyone asked poor Chris Doyle about these transfers.

Talked to him extensively about his films on DVD, and he said that basically nothing apart from Lady in the Water looked the way he wanted. For all the talk of "director's intent", the cinematographers often get short-shrifted -- especially in Asian cinema, it seems.

Such a pity.

Assembly is coming out next month in the UK on bluray no idea about the coding yet though.

IA boxset for me.. and maybe Andy Laus concert... Sammis concert looked brilliant in the trailers on the HK PSN store but i only liked one of her songs

stephen chows odyssey for sure.. cant remember days of being wild
and Assembly was okay for a movie not sure if its watchable again.. "once is enough"

where's infernal affairs trilogy on for pre-order??

I assume then that Andy Lau can actually sing? I'm still quivering from the Jackie Chan concert I saw once. For those not in the know, it's expected in China that you be an all around entertainer to be a true superstar

Andy Lau had some decent songs back in the day... I didn't say he was a good singer, just that some of his songs were catchy... he definately a better singer than Jackie...

Hurray! I'm glad I didn't buy Internal Affairs when it first came out on Blu-ray because now I can get the box set!!!!!!!

Andy Lau can sing better then the other HK stars out there, he's one of the "4 Gods" of singing in HK.. i havent really paid attention to his music since the 90s tho but i did get his greatest hits cd a while back and "Lian Xi" is awesome (youtube http://youtube.com/watch?v=TY-vFN6prdM his mandarin isnt A++ but its good)

if you want a real singer though check out Jacky Cheung
