HDD/DVD Recorders with HDMI?

Does anyone know if these exist yet?
I'm looking for an HDD/DVD Recorder which can record HDTV programming from my Satellite receiver and output via HDMI.

I have a high-def HDD recorder, but it can't record to BD/DVD. But ut does have some external interfaces where I might be able to hook up a suitable drive. It's a Pace Micro unit.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think that sort of thing isn't around yet due to copyright issues. My cable box (Motorola) has a Firewire output that would (theoretically) allow me to make exact digital copies of HD programs. However, the Firewire port is disabled. I can make DVD copies of HD programs, but only thru the analog outputs. The output is downsampled to SVHS resolution so I get 'letterboxing' in any HD movies I record to DVD.

If you wanted to get a true HD recording from an HD program, you couldn't get that on DVD anyway. Max resolution is 480P.

Maybe someday we'll see Blu-ray recorders, but I have a feeling that outputting digitally will still be prevented do the aforementioned copyright issues. Since component (analog) can carry an HD signal, that may still be a possibility.

A properly configure PC would do this. It will time shift HDTV and let you rewind/pause live TV. Also, could copy onto DVD as data files and playback via the PC. PC can be connected to a display via HDMI.
