So for many years I had my close set of two best friends. We went to the movies together, or sometimes, me and just one of those two, if the film didn't interest the other, or if one were away at college.
Right now I have my first serious girlfriend in a long time and we went to "Thor 2" together. She was insistent we see it together first, which I was fine with. I then went again with my dad and one best friend. Now the thing is, I did introduce my girlfriend to my two besties by us all going to a movie this summer. One got along with her fine. The other did not, so we never did anything as a 4 person group since. Can/do you trade off who you see a particular big film with? For example, I can't go with my friends and girlfriend to Hobbit, and I'm also going to have to go with my dad at some point. He could likely go with me and my friends (They think he's cool actually. He's joined us often), but that still leaves at least 2 showings of the longest film of the year. Is it ok to trade off who you see a film with for the first time? "Sweetie, I saw Thor first with you, and I'm seeing Hobbit first with friends"? |

I hate watching movies with other people.
I only go to the cinema to watch old movies they might be showing which are usually fairly empty or at least no annoying teenagers. |

Doesn't matter. I often go alone because I see more movies than anyone I know. I don't really care either way.

First off I'd say that there should be no reason your girlfriend and friends can't go to a movie at the same time. You're supposed to sit in a theatre and watch the movie so there doesn't have to be any interation between them really. If they have a problem just being in the same room together then you may have bigger problems.
My thing is I will watch a movie in theatres once. That is it. There have been times where I thought I might be willing to watch a movie for the second time in theatres like with Gravity and Avengers but I still only go once because I'd rather check out a diff movie. So, when I go to that movie whomever wants to come with at that time comes with (usually my wife now a days but was the same when we were teenagers dating). If people can't make it then they have to catch it with someone else. Why do you feel like you have to go to these movies together with these people? They can't go to a film without you? |

....really? You can't just go with everyone if they want to go? Is there some sort of boys night for The Hobbit going on?
I go with people who want to go or I go alone. I don't care either way since we are just sitting in close proximity. It isn't much of a social affair for me. |

Do not agree with this. I would never rank the importance of people in my life and who I would enjoy movies with. What difference does it make if you are with your girlfriend or your best friend? None. It's a movie, it's not like you'll be speaking the whole way through anyway.

Okay, I went back and read the first post (yeah, I didn't the first time).
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life. ~ Also, Andrew, what was on the back of that flowchart? It looks interesting. |

Look, the thing is, my girl and my best friends and myself are all huge movie buffs, and very often things come down to 'You wouldn't go see that without me/us would you?' like it's a betrayal. It's rough lol.
I know it reads stupidly but is what it is. |
