Hmm. On one hand, Roger Deakins photography in HD? Of course I'm in. On the other, Universal's involvement is making me a little cautious about the transfer's quality.

One of Denzel's best films. Hope they treat this and Gorillas in the Mist right.

You can't even try to flip this thing on ebay at all to use to upgrade to Bluray. Maybe if it is factory sealed. I just recenty sold my "The Killing Fields" dvd for $20 on ebay.. will basically get the new bluray for free.. unfortunately there aren't many suckers or takers for "The Hurricane" .. I guess I'll just burn my copy along with some others and just purchase it on BLU.

*burn = light on fire!

Wow I haven't watched The Hurricane in a long time. Would definitely pick this one up maybe at around $10 or less at some point.

Why not hang on to it and get rid of it at the next Best Buy upgrade & save? Then at least it'll be worth $5 to you. My kids have outgrown many of their Thomas & Friends, Dora DVDs, etc. They're too beat up from the kids mishandling them to be worth much, so I just get rid of them this way.

Just because some people still buy DVDs on Ebay, does not make them a "sucker"! For whatever reason it may be, they prefer to purchase the DVD instead of the blu-ray. Everybody is not high tech, and it's strictly by choice.

The Hurricane looked good on HD-DVD, and hopefully Universal will not plague their blu-ray release with excessive DNR, like some of their previous BD releases.
