Default Some Internet Needed

In my particular area here in PA its either Comcast or AT&T DSL, now I have been along time subscriber with AT&T...in recent months I have notice my internet signal dropping in and out..sometimes for a few hrs..after calling AT&T up and them sending me a new modem/router(which is totally new to me since I only had old Westell modem before)..nothing change..so I am thinking about switching over to Comcast for just internet...has anyone here made that change and how different was you experience...

Any insight would gladly help.

Do you have a broadband comparison site for the US? Might be worth looking into.

Also, I heard Verizon Fios is kinda like our Virgin Media in that the offer fibre optic which is lightning fast. Might be something to look into. Good luck

Thanks, but Fios isn't available where I live, and I don't think they have any intention of making it available.

I would first look into your current connection first, are you on DSL or Uverse (some people call Uverse DSL)? If on DSL consider switching to Uverse which has higher speeds and also the setup is a little better. If on Uverse then there is some things you can have them do to try to fix the problem just let me know and I'll let you know.

As far as Comcast goes they are a shared connection vs dedicated with ATT which means if all your neighbors have Comcast then your speeds can drop quite a bit.
