Question Is NCFOM a good blind buy?

I can get it for 19.99 in canada (which for those who don't know is a miracle) but i dont want to shell out $6 to rent and then the 19.99 to buy because it will turn out to be a full priced blu ray at $26

just to give you guys an idea of the movies im into, some of my favourite movies include: almost any al pacino/robert de niro movie (too many to name), snatch, collateral, fight club, pulp fiction etc etc

as you can see, i generally agree with the critics so i thought i i would like NCFOM as well

i heard it has very good AQ and unbelievable PQ...so would this be worth it either way as reference quality?

PQ/AQ are top notch. The movie itself has people divided. I like all those movies you mentioned and I loved NCFOM.

What is NCFOM? Is that like when the New Kids on the Block got back together and called themselves NKTB?

I have heard if this critically acclaimed movie No Country for Old Men. I heard that it is really artsy. There is a lot of grain which adds to the feel of the movie. The PQ is supposed to be amazing. The movie as a whole, especially the end, is pretty deep and went over many heads.

It was definitely a terrific blind-buy for me. PQ and AQ are fantastic -- and I loved the movie. Two votes for yes.

I absolutely loved the movie, and thought the AQ/PQ was great as well.

GREAT MOVIE.....

It's a TERRIBLE BLIND BUY. You should rent it, as it appears to be a "love it, or hate it" kind of movie.

The movie pq/aq was awesome. The movie itself was interesting none the less. It was awesome to begin with than just didn't payoff for me in the end, but like others said everyone will have a different opinion for the most part so I say for 20 screw it buy it.

I love everything the Coen Brothers touch, but this one had a lot of people confused. Most people seem to really like it until it ends and then their opinions change big time. I don't want to give anything away so I'll just say if you've seen Blood Simple (their first film) and liked it, you will probably like this a lot. Their movies vary in style so often, it's hard to tell. From Fargo to The Big Lebowski to O Brother Where Art Thou to The Man Who Wasn't There to a couple lesser quality films to No Country For Old Men, it feels that they are making better movies again. I hope knowing a little the writers/directors past works helps a little.

I agree. I did the blind buy and loved it, but my wife didn't. Rent first.

I can say that this was a good film but I don't think I'd ever watch it again. it's check out worthy but might be a little disappointing to some. I vote rent first.

This movie is definately not a blind buy because of the controversy behind the ending. I liked the movie and disliked the ending, but I still got it on Blu-Ray because I liked everything up to that point so much.

This is absolutely a must own!

P.S. Where in Canada is it 19.99? I would jump at the opportunity to get it at that price!
