Not sure if anyone can help me, but I'm after a new Video Camera. I'm looking for something that is both good indoor and outdoor, with a good image stabiliser and performs well in low light.
I'll be mostly using it for good quality youtube videos and some short films. So I'm wanting something that gives a relatively professional video quality. My budget is under the $1000 mark. Here's a few I'm looking at. http://www.dicksmith.com.au/camcorde...ck-dsau-xg1507 http://www.dicksmith.com.au/camcorde...er-dsau-xg5159 http://www.dicksmith.com.au/camcorde...ck-dsau-xg1508 Any help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. |

My recommendation (and I may get pounced on): skip a video camera and just get a DSLR.
You can get one for a comparable price and some do great video. The Canon EOS 600D (aka Kiss X5 overseas) is dirt cheap and does some very nice 1080p video. Plus you'd also have the benefit of getting a very reasonable camera too. http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/canon-eo...-lens-18-55mm/ My more recent drum cover videos are filmed with the previous Kiss model. You can see a demo of what it outputs here: Obviously YouTube compression plays havoc with detail, particularly in shadows but it gives you a decent indication of the potential and for around $500 you really can't go wrong. |
