The Snowman & The Snowman and Snowdog

Did this slip by anybody else besides me? I have been wanting to see this on blu ray and was searching on Wikipedia and saw that it just cem out. Amazon.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I can't wait to hear the Snowman score with lossless sound and I think it's 16x9 widescreen. This is an all time holiday favorite.

No worries, I thought I was loosing the plot for a second

Unfortunately I doubt universal will be offering us a new transfer, my guess is that they just recycle the old one and repackage it although I am more than happy to be proved wrong by them

Particularly as there doesn't seem to BE a US Blu release of either title yet.
It's already out on kiddy DVD, but not sure if the original is included.

It's a Universal title, so 99.9% likelihood it'll be region free.

Really? Wow that sucks. I know there's are a few of them out there that are locked, though it is very rare.

Is there a link to a place that mentions that it's locked, or is it from personally testing it?

edit: It looks like The Snowman is B locked, but The Snowman an Snowdog is region free.

It'll be the same as the individual releases, so the first is locked, at least according to a member who tested it here, and the 2nd is region free according to Amazon UK's listing (which isn't always accurate)

Oh boy! I guess I'll have to look into a region free player. Anyone know where to start. I have an Oppo 103 but does a mod do any damage as far as software updates?

Yep, it would not play on the Insignia BD player in the bedroom. My Oppo 103 is in the basement but I don't have a main TV yet. I did put it in and the counter moves but I'm pretty sure it is just playing the screen that says wrong region of something similar. That is so wrong not to release it here also for the Christmas holiday.
