Exclamation So who digs this Digg hullabaloo?

http://digg.com/

Even the front page of DIGG is covered.. its sorta related to our "war" but I figure "off topic" is where it belongs, for now.

The tech section is, of course, overwhelmed.. http://digg.com/view/technology

Any opinions on IP vs. free speech etc.? Personally, deleting the diggs is about the worst thing the editors of DIGG could have done. The Revenge of the Nerds/Geeks (i use the terms with affection) wont be pretty.. both hd-dvd and DIGG stand to lose more this way.

I dont approve of illegal copying but this (censorship) is about the worst policy to use in such circs. Deleting diggs and entries on Wikipedia is not the smart thing to do, Imo.

What is this digg, and what is it about, if someone doesn't care answering, sounds interesting, even more saying fox and disney are for sure not going hd-dvd.

Whats interesting, to me, is that the lawyers never learn..

Best way to ensure that Everyone on the net hears about something is to make it a DMCA, cease and desist issue.

If no legal letters, it may have received a few hundred diggs and gone the way of the dodo.

But no, they force DIGG to go against their stated policies, thus pissing off the users, who thus make it the most DUGG story in history.

There were almost as many DIGGs as there are hd-dvd players sold. Talk about bad publicity.

To above poster, hd-dvd keys were leaked and the story was suppressed, leading to revolt at DIGG and the story is now huge and the studios are likely to hear about it and be even more comfy with extra DRM offered by BD.
