How much further? - Blu-ray Forum

I know that things evolve quickly, but once players hit the 2.0 standard, will it slow down. I don't want to buy a 2.0 player to see it become obsolete in another 6 or 7 months. Any thoughts on this.

As pointless as the upgrade to 2.0 is, are you really worried about what they might(but probably won't) put out 6 or 7 months from now? I'm perfectly happy with my profile 1.0 player. Besides, they call 2.0 the "final" profile.

Just buy the latest and most fully featured player you can afford. There is always a better and newer models coming "soon" and if you wait, you can wait forever.

That said, I'm still waiting for a fully feature BD player that can output DTS-HD/MA at 5.1 Analog.
