Default Pioneer BDP-HD1 = Sony BDP-S1

I'm looking around right now at gettng into the blu Ray world and have been a long time Pioneer supporter for there outstanding DVD players.

When I started doing some research I've come across several reviews that basically state that the Sony Player is built by Pioneer. PQ & Sound wise these machines are Identical, the Pioneer however has the Media Center functionality & Ethernet port for setting it up as a media center and to get firmware updates over the web.

So I'm thinking why buy the Pioneer if I can get The sony Cheaper? Now I've also been told Sony is comming out with a new player soon that will be much lower in price but have the same functionality as there current player. I'm just curious if this will also be a Pioneer build?

Anyone have any information on this situation.

Here is a good review on the topic:

I recommend the Samsung BD-P1200 can be had for $650 AND rivals the pioneer and Sony players according to reviews. I own one and would agree
