A few months ago I rebought Van Helsing because I wanted the new steelbook and felt it was kind of dumb to repurchase a movie just for the packaging. But now those new Kill Bill steelbooks look so awesome I'm seriously considering repurchasing those as well.
Anyone else do this? |

Kinda. I rebought Spaceballs during the Black Friday sale for $4. While it was, in part, because of the extra feature and the very low price, it was also the better cover art and the fact that it was a 'newer' release. I'm going to pretend it was 100% the extra feature and price, though.

I re-bought Batman Begins and The Dark Knight for the steelbook packaging. I also re-bought all 5 Fast & Furious movies for the new matching slipcovers, although since the 6th one apparently won't match it didn't really matter. I still got the movie cash though

Never.
Despite liking the art on other releases of titles I already have, I've never caught myself considering buying any such art. For me, it's mostly the movie I'm interested in: 80% of the purchase is the film and its A/V mastering for blu-ray. 15% of my interest is for the extras. 5% is about the packaging and the art. |

Guilty as charged!
I have ended up buying Jackie Brown on blu four times which is quite embarassing. I did manage to sell on 2 of those though. Definitely being more strict about this now though. Steelbooks and digibooks are the main culprits (its not me! ![]() |

I've done it a few times with steelbooks. But, it's not something I do unless the film is special enough to me. In other words, the best looking steelbook ever could be released and I wouldn't buy it if the film was only mediocre for me, but I would still have the amaray release to enjoy the film should I choose to want to watch.

Nope. I have upgraded from Standard Releases to Digibooks/UCE's like with Blade Runner but that's about it.
The closest I ever came was with Citizen Kane, but I passed on getting the UCE because the only thing it really has that the Digibook doesn't (outside of the larger book) is the RKO 281 dvd. |

Yeah all the time. If there's a steelbook or digibook coming out, or if a new slipcover is made like with Silver Linings Playbook and also if a special edition/remastered edition is going to be released I'll double dip and just sell my other copy.

I have for steelbooks. The one movie that I recall wasn't because of a steel book was Running Scared. My original wasn't OAR and when I found out that fact, I didn't want to watch it ever again. I got the OAR this past summer when it was released.
