I have the LN-T4661F and it rules. I'm been very happy with it. I purchased it from Circuit City for $1700 about a month ago. I'm guessing your model is a little newer and is likely even better (it should be for $800 more). Anyways, I've owned 2 Samsung LCD's and both have been excellent. Just my two cents.

I would pull the trigger on that deal. Last Christmas I got the 4671 for 2100 dollars, and with the LED technology in the 81 series, I would have payed the extra 400 dollars for the 81. Sounds like an awesome deal. I am completely in love with my tv. You'll be more than happy every time you turn it on.

I thought I'd share some thoughts on this one. I've done quite a bit of research on these models.

The 81 suffers from a few disappointing aspects, namely, it only has 60hz video processing and the off-angle viewing is poor. The 71 has 120hz video processing, better off-angle viewing and is the better choice of the two. Both models have the highly reflective screen which could prove bothersome in a well-lit room or if it faces windows. Both have 8ms response times.

The biggest problem with the 71 is the Auto-Motion feature. Although it gives movies (particularly Blu-Rays) a great three-dimensional look, when engaged in "High" mode, the picture gives off a kind of "ghost" which trails moving objects & offsets the benefits of the feature. It's quite noticeable and annoying.

My recommendation would be to look at the new A650's. They have all the benefits of the 71, without the glossy screen. Also, the ghosting problem when using Auto-Motion is all but eliminated because it has a 4ms response time. The dynamic contrast ratio is 50,000:1. I saw one demonstrated in-store with Auto-Motion on "high". Let me tell you, Jessica Alba never looked as good on "Into The Blue" as she did on that tv. The picture quality was simply stunning. This is the tv I'm saving for.

That's my opinion anyway.
