Default Help: Alien v Predator Requiem Uncut

Hello,

Anyone here know of anywhere in the region B world where AvP Requiem is getting an uncut release? The Australian version is theatrical, the UK version, the German version. I can't tell with the French version.

Please! This is like the final straw for me. I'm close to buying a second PS3, and I don't really want to spend the money

Default There you go...

Even the U.S BD is said to be only an unrated cut and not the full uncut version as present on the DVD though the cuts are slim and negligible.

unless your a huge fan of movie i would'nt worry about a uncut bluray i know its annoying that we don't get a unrated but i don't think it would really add that much to the film unless your a gore hound?

Thumbs down

Zyclone. I'm a fan.

Yeah, I read the DVD Active review. That is the review that points out that the UK release is the theatrical cut. 93 minutes. The extended cut is 101 minutes. That is a whole extra 8 minutes missing. So the US cut is significantly longer.

Being in the U.S., I've only watched the uncut version, so I don't know what was added back in. Regardless, this is a pretty piss poor film all around. I'm a fan of both series, but this movie falls into the same pattern that Alien Resurrection fell into: regurgitating parts of earlier and much better movies in the series.

I highly doubt you're missing much of anything in those 8 minutes of footage. If your version contains the same extras as the U.S. version, I wouldn't sweat over the missing uncut version. Unlike the original AvP, the extra footage doesn't make this a better movie (and even the original's extra footage didn't make that movie particularly good either).

Have you timed the deleted scenes they actually go for a while(Quite easily 8 mins), theres also a interesting deleted scene where the Predator kills a civilian right after healing himself. There's no point waiting for any uncut/extended version that may or may not ever come when you can already own the film right now.

yes i was referring to the graveyard scene.

Plus some of the deleted scenes are extended versions of some of the gore scenes ('boy with alien' & 'pregnant lady in hospital', 'lady in diner kitchen' for example) which may well be the mentioned 'uncut version' scenes, and that they just weren't added to the film just separately on the disc.

And the piss poor excuse we get from Fox is that they didn't have enough time to add the unrated cut into our version & yet they call ours the extreme edition???. I for one am sick of being shafted with inferior releases because of region coding especially in this day and age. As a consumer i would like the choice of being able to buy an uncut version of any movie as let's face it the movie studios often will cut/edit films to get lower movie ratings as they think with a lower rating they'll appeal to the masses.

That's the one area where video tapes appealed to me more than dvd or blu ray does especially in the USA, as they would often release a movie in the theaters with a R rating and then when it was released on videotape it would be the unrated version.

They did worse than call it the extreme edition. They called it the "Extended Combat Edition". There is ****ing nothing extended about it.

Damn, was also trying to find an uncut version of the film to work on a UK PS3. Infuriating that the US BD is strictly region A...

Invest in a multiregion blu ray player rather then a second ps3.

Having a second PS3 has its advantages. A spare for starters. And only a bit more than the cost of getting a reasonable player unlocked

I'm stuck in the same position

Was hoping that yeah the "extended combat edition" an all the hype would mean that it would be as it says ^^. But it's only the standard edition...

I guess we either need to work on buy from amazon import or hope that they will release another version.. but I don't think they will.. it might also depend on if they are waiting for the next AVP to come out.. They should really just make/keep them seperate on their own.. they work best that way.

I think we've seen the last of AvP now, what with the Alien prequel and a Predator 3 supposedly confirmed. Like you say, it works better that way, I've never even been much of a Predator fan.
