Haven't seen it, but Amazon has dropped the price to $20.95. Wonder if pre-ordres are little slow on this one.

The trailer looked really promising on the previews of Before The Devil Knows You're Dead. Then I went to Rotten Tomatoes and saw all the horrible reviews it had gotten, I was quite disappointed.

It's got Buffy in it so I'm sure I'll pick it up.

My GF wants to see it because it got a good write-up in one of her magazines, Redbook or something... but from what I have heard it's pretty mediocre.

Just watched this last night and I quite liked it. I love films with multiple storylines which overlap, though it can often lead to farfetched coincidences. Here, I felt one story element in the fourth act was eye-rollingly bad, but I still enjoyed the film as a whole. Good ensemble cast -- I particularly liked Brendan Fraser in this serious role (I think he needs to do more straight drama -- he was wonderful in "The Quiet American"). Andy Garcia added some dramatic weight, though perhaps a tad over the top in a couple of scenes.

agreed with you. Though did you feel like at times you couldnt tell if it was trying to be a drama , dark comedy, etc?

I thought though Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kevin Bacon outshined everyone in the film. Emile Hirsch i felt was very annoying in his role when usually i think he outshines everyone. This is not a great film and it did seem like at times they were pushing to make this something with a much higher goal. In the end it is enjoyable eventhough i have read many reviews bashing it. I enjoyed it and think it needs a few viewings to fully grasp the message of the movie. I plan on viewing it again soon.

I see what you mean about the tone of the film. And yes -- Hirsch was so annoying! I'm not a big fan of his, though. The critics were definitely harsh on this, but I'm glad I bought it. There IS an ambitious feel to the overall arc, though there were some missteps.

I liked it. It's kind of depressing and seems a little like Babel but I enjoyed it.

It was not good. Think of it as a very poor mans Crash. The movie Crash.
