GTA IV Loading Freeze FIX!

Hello! Though there is a thread devoted to the freezing problems, I thought it might be useful to have this simple thread, so that people can get the following information:

If your GTA IV is freezing up during load screens, sign out of the PSN before starting the game. This should fix it.

I was just about to post this. I had the game stuck on a loading screen and then when i quit it would reset the console. It was not until i signed out of the psn network and started the game that the problem stoped. I remember having similar problems with Warhawk when it was released, glad its a simple fix

Yeah, it fixed my PS3 60GB just fine. I'm told you can sign in from the game, and it will work fine for multiplayer as well.

I can vouch for this.

I had another load not happen for me and this time I made sure my auto login to the network was disabled, logged out, and I even disconnected by ethernet cable as an overkill just to make myself feel better.

The load came up perfectly after that.

There's something about the Internet and this game, for whatever reason that they'll have to iron out with a patch or something.

Same thing happen to me with MLB 08 The Show.

once ur in u can sign back in and jump back on multiplayer, servers must be screwy right now

you can sign on to psn in game.

make sure your not signed into playstation online..load game.....once in game...use your cell phone( hit up on directional pad) by selecting multiplayer...it will auto sign you into psn

Thats what i did bout 10x last night. It would just lock it up when i tried to sign in from the game. It sucks. So i stayed signed out. R* Should just patch it.

And they will. It takes time to create and test a patch though. In the mean-time,, hopefully this 'fix' will allow people to enjoy this amazing game to some degree though

This 'fix' only works for the 'loading lockup' issue.

For the many of us experiencing freezing during actual gameplay constantly, this isn't really reliable. I will be testing more to see if I notice a reduction; however, the game is simply unplayable right now.

thanks for the info, i got the game on tuesday but i haven't unwrapped it yet, because of my finals.

I know that it takes time. But till then i cant play multiplayer since it just locks up when signing in from game.

ill give it a shot, it'll be hard for me to test since it freezes irregularily.

i know its frustrating but in the mean time enjoy the great single player story.
